I get an excuse in now for tonight’s Stage 6, came back from Gosport with more than an empty wallet, I have woken with a full head cold and full of snot😤🤧🤧😷
Watched a GCN YouTube video the other day where they reported that in CVRcade they will be having cyclists competing with 'gamers' (by that, I mean you can use the game just with a games controller). Don't know about guys on here, but I like Zwift (and Bkool before) because it's a cycling tool that has an interest to kill the boredom of just riding on a trainer - I don't want to be in a game first and an exercise tool second. Veloton, from what I've seen, is quite 'gamey' too - just hope Zwift don't fall into the same trap. Zwift have a big following today, and whilst there are certainly improvements that can be made (nothing is perfect) they need to be careful not to try to fix that which is not brokenVideos about Veloton looks very good what i watch in youtube. It looks very realistic too, you just can't ride thru the avatar like on Zwift. Also collisions are included. Don't know how big error you need to do to cause collision.
Long story short, I really struggle to judge effort on feel alone. Since I lost all my fitness, my HR spikes really quickly, if I'm not paying attention I will go too deep into the red without noticing and blow up without warning.
Why didn't you just continue without it? The race comes first![]()

Unfortunately that course is one you have to get into a group in order to post a fast time. Riding solo and you just wont have speed on the 75% of the course that is flat. Just read your reason for needing a HR monitor ... else I'd have suggested as per Andy to have ridden without it. Definitely a course to have another go at, as you should be able to beat that time by sitting in a blob with others1:07:50 for me today. I'd hoped this course would be more suited to me as a fat lad with a reasonable kick for short periods of time. I was wrong
Bad start, I noticed a couple of hundred yards in that my HR monitor hadn't woken up, while fiddling with it it pinged off the strap and onto the floor. With the fast start, by the time I got back on the bike I was last and so far behind that I had no chance of ever getting into a large group.
Should probably have abandoned the ride at that point, but no, I'm an idiot.
Power tailed off on the last climb so I think I paced the overall ride better than previous efforts, but for much of the ride I was solo'ing which seriously dinted my time on the flat sections.
In other news, lost 8 lbs since the start of the year. Some of it might not even be sweat!
I have to say that CVRcade doesn't look tempting at all. I have seen when Chris Pritchard is raced on that game and my first impression was i never wanna try that one, that is not what i want from indoor cycling. Been awhile since i have ride on BKool, it's not bad software at all but there's no sense to pay monthly for 3 or 4 software, can't use them all so i cancel BigRingVR, probably Bkool is next. Zwift is good software for indoor training but its not perfect, but good enough to be probably the most famous indoor software. Developers of Zwift should be careful too what features they add and what they should not add before the Zwift goes out of hands.Watched a GCN YouTube video the other day where they reported that in CVRcade they will be having cyclists competing with 'gamers' (by that, I mean you can use the game just with a games controller). Seems to be lots of illness around - I think that's four on here now (myself, Del C, Joffey and Freelander).
Time for the rest of you to be carrying bottles of alcohol gel to wipe your hands down every 30 minutes like Team Ineos do at the tour!

It was explained on the YouTube video, so you might be right. Not really for me though. To be fair, I think the gamer bit was for "derney" riders. Could be wrong though.

I have a bad feeling that Chinese are traveled enough to other countries to spread that Coronavirus, we don't have to go to China, accidents are partially happened already...... unless you've been to Wuhan recently, it's just a cold![]()
I had an Indian this weekend, not risking the local chinky until we have the all clear![]()
