Oh yeah, they run and swim  I forgot!😄

re fatigue sadly I have to worry about what I carry from one ride to another more the older I get. Sufferfest , probably like TR, reduces training load at certain points during at 2/3 week load and then you have a light week to recover. It’s why I do a fair bit of what looks like pointless low watts spinning but it’s nowhere near 80% Z2. One of their coaches is sitting out a 12 week training plan in prep for Nice and the Flanders and will be interesting to see how much Z2 there will be. Its not one to one coaching like Martin has signed up for but at least will give me a chance to see if I can keep to a plan and improve ftp and endurance.

Yeah to be honest if I was faced with 80% zone 2 I’m not sure I’d be that enthusiastic about it...But one thing these debates always raise for me is that it’s clearly different strokes for different folks.

You remember a month or so back we both did a proper session. Me TrainerRoad you sufferfest. Then the next day we were both told to do an active recovery. Mine was set at 30 minutes but yours was an hour. The day after that we raced and I said on WhatsApp I thought my recovery session did me some good where you felt you suffered as a result of yours? Maybe if the sessions were reversed I suffer and you gain. Or maybe not...guess what I saying is it’s all trial and error. What works for me might not work for you etc. There are definitely some common threads that link us all as humans. But lots of this stuff is personal to our own physiology.

The proofs in the pudding as they say! See you guys in the summer to find out the results

I do remember that. My plan had me as a no ride day when we raced 😂 It’s like Martin says, difficult to resist a race. Perhaps it worked in the longer term because I got small
ftp increases in the next two races.
like you say we are all individuals and how we respond will differ.
just booked flights to Nice for end of March, Assioma pedals ordered. I should have some number to bore you with on my return 😀

No Zwift for me tomorrow...planning to finish off the festive500 with an 80miler spin. Hard to believe the weather in my area has been unreal for this time of year and I haven’t been on Zwift for almost 2 weeks.:becool:
