This general discussion today has reminded me of the sub text I think we have sometimes. It’s like we’re trying to define the line of the acceptable level of caring. It’s ok to care, but how much is ‘caring too much’?! How seriously is too serious! I often see posts started with “l don’t really care, but...”. Or “It’s all just a bit of fun, but....” I’m sure I’m guilty of it myself at time’s. I wonder, are we having a separate competition to try and convince everyone else we care the least? Or perhaps that our level of caring is the correct one and everyone else should use that as their guide. All very British I’m sure ! ^_^
Who cares?

Don’t know why but i had a odd feeling that i need to lie down and tell story of my life from very beginning. I start to feel remorse about all bad that i have said and done

Well ... the big reveal ......

I averaged 235 watts today (even though I set the ERG at 240) compared to 238 on the actual race. I was 2 seconds slower today.

So the (not very) scientific test over a short flattish course, shows that fixing the power to 235 watts, or averaging 238 watts in a race, gives pratically the same result.

Who'd have thunk it

hmmm, let me think about that one
Set the ERG to 246w, that is my current FTP. I won’t dare to try myself .

evening! I seem to have stirred the hornets nest this morning and haven’t been able to get logged in during ”work” to chip in. The amount of posts shows how much you all care!

@Whorty I’ve no difficulty accepting solo efforts if anyone can’t make the meet up...it is more about the likes of me going again multiple times outside of the meet up to try and get a better time. The race environment is different to going solo...for example last night I just had to concentrate on pacing my effort rather than worrying about anyone disappearing up the road or the mental side when you’ve got your competitors on your wheel drafting the life out of ye.

so on reflection @peterob please don’t count my times set yesterday- I’d rather they don’t count. I had the same opportunity and disadvantages as everyone else at the first time of asking and I could have ridden the second meet up but didn’t. Sorry that screws up the table. I think that puts me about a minute behind the leaders - I’ve got the stage times if you need them.👍

If you feel that way (Which seems to be along the lines that I feel too?), why not just start from next month and let this month play out? You’ve put in all the graft this month already.

Stage Four Preview - Muir and the Mountain
Zwift Insider Route description - https://zwiftinsider.com/muir-and-the-mountain/

Spawn site And Lead in
I tried three test meet ups and each time I spawned by the starting pens near Titans Grove. FYI...On the third test event I increased the event distance and still spawned at the same place.

It looks like a very short lead in to the start of the Zwift Insider verified segment so a warm up pre race will be a good idea as I expect the pace to be hot hot hot 🔥

I didn’t ride to the start but Zwift Insider reports no official start banner so we will need to decide if we do a short neutralised lead in to the turn for titans grove or just go from the gun? I would suggest the short lead in to make sure no one is sleeping.
