Did the ramp test today. What a miserable experience that is!

I don’t seem to do well in FTP tests, and today was no different. It gave me an FTP of 227W which I thought was low, so went up the Alpe for punishment.

At the end of my Alpe ride, literally right after a specific FTP test my FTP increased to 249W!

Is there any consensus on the most reliable method to determine FTP on Zwift??

I did a ramp test for the first time a few weeks ago. It came out with a Surprisingly close FTP calculation compared to a 20 min test result - within a couple of watts. I don’t think I could go back to a 20 min test again.

I take the ramp test with a pinch of salt. I always end up with 10 watts more on the Ramp over a 20 min test.

Had a bash at a 100k audax ride today. Bloody eck 3 hours on a turbo is painful
I've done a few - very painful. Don't get the chance much now for 3 hours in one go ..... currently sitting here now waiting for emergency services to come and help wifey who's not having a good day  Hoping to do a quick blast later the afternoon when she's sorted.

I once got slated for doing a 120 min group ride on Zwift. I think that’s about my limit. I couldn’t face another hour on top.
Did a 92 km fun do on Zwift yesterday, rounded it up to 100 km. Let all the quick guys go and settled in with a nice group of 5 , kept it nice n steady and settled in to watching James Cracknell racing across America on you tube. Only took two bottles with me , could have done with another really. Weather was miserable yesterday so it was definitely the best option. I didn’t find it unpleasant at all , steady three hours endurance ride in the bank.

Where did you hear about these developments? A podcast? Facebook? Zwift Insider?

I’m looking forward to the new course. New UI could be a case of “careful what you wish for” but there’s definitely room for improvement on the current.

About 100km rides. When i rode UKZwifters 100km Sportive ride it didn’t felt bad at all, at least it wasn’t a torture. Next weekend when i have 4 days off i try to look if there is 100km ride what fits my schedule. That UKZwifter ride last only 2h33min so maybe for that reason it didn’t felt bad because it was over much sooner than 3hours :reading:

I'm having to do some long Zone 2 rides at the minute - and I'm getting sore under my left sitbone

I had the same experience when I starting playing with some guys from work a few years ago. Improved after a few weeks but hurt way more than riding!
I didn’t keep it up though and haven’t played for a couple of years now.
