off topic for a minute if you don't mind
i may be in the market for a new gps - i had a garmin 705 that has been brilliant over the years in some real bad weather but after the latest off it has passed away . hopefully the insurance will be coughing up for a new one - or at least part payment
i have a garmin 1000 that i really like but the battery doesnt last as long as the 705 and a few have commented on water damage in heavy rain
i know a few of you have moved to other units lately - could i ask how your getting on with them - battery life and bad weather ?
i would like to think it hasnt put me off 10-12hr rides but it would be nice not to have to take my battery pack
There's a new Edge 1030 with long battery life (claimed 20hrs) and an extended battery pack that mounts directly to the edge bar mount.

Some reading for you

If I didn't have the NEO but I had TT's money I would get that. Allmost a bargain. It would have to be on interest free over 2 y but no chance of that- it will sell in the 1000's

Bloody lawyers pleading poverty! We're going to have to listen to this crap for a week next summer Breedon. And that'll be when we're puffing and wheezing up mountains too!!

Seriously though that does look sexy. I wonder how much you can adjust the reach. I bet it weighs enough so you don't want to move it much...Although that means I could block the door with it when the missus finds out how much it cost!

Haha!

I love that moment when you hit a steep hill in a group. And the talking stops abruptly!

I understand about the family thing. I have to leave early or not at all... another time
