I find it all rather confusing. It doesn’t explain why I was being passed by peeps on TT bikes riding 1w/k less than me. Why would they have an advantage on a gravel surface? Perhaps it’s more complex than we think, perhaps it’s not working as intended.

I haven’t made up the finer details yet... But this definitely explains how you out sprinted me the other night. Case closed as far as I’m concerned :reading:

Been looking around the garage and there are no obvious wheels that are gravel appropriate so who knows at the moment what will work well and what will work badly. Same with bikes - I did notice there is a Specialised Roubaix S-Works so I've bought that and may try the route again on that bike. Will put some different wheels on but no idea which ones yet

i would guess it was just a glitch that they will soon put right
else everyone will be moaning about times etc , maybe they are gonna implement it just for mountain bikes or something
its going to get silly if you spend all your sweat drops on a flash bike and wheels just to ride thru treacle

Dunno... I have a set of lightweights as you know and I spend my time peddling through London potholes...

On a serious note what level do you have to be at to get the fancy pants gear? I’m level 20 and I can’t even get a decent flat cap!

I’m sure I peddled past a guy riding what looked like a mountain bike yesterday (flat handlebars at least).

spend some of your drops ?
each time you go up alp you get a chance of flash kit
level up and you will eventually get some nice stuff or unlock stuff you can buy
got a flat cap on level 30 and got a pinerello dogma the other night so the prizes are not really consistent !

Either make the courses all gravel and let riders race evenly or tarmac. Cyclocross is fine as long as folk know they are racing on rough stuff and choose wheels appropriately
