Not one to skip the chance of an excuse so here goes , I have made the blunder of sorting out a block and beam floor ready for tomorrow , having to carry everything round the back of the house
Bob , just imagine that pen you will be holding is made of lead and then put it in a box full with 1000s of others THATS what I will be lugging all day , amazing eh ! Makes broken bones and a bit of pollen in the air look trivial I know , but I will soldier on
Can we use any tt bike ?
Just googled. I thought it was like a wood laminate but concrete!!! It will make my day at work tomorrow feel a little easier.

Don’t buy it Randy. It’s his poor son doing all the donkey work that I feel sorry for!

Is anyone here using Apple TV? Prefer it to pc / lap top set up?

I think I need something dedicated to turbo but don’t know which way to go

I am using only Macbook Pro. It's not high-end setup but at least it work perfectly with ant+, because ant+ is the protocol i like to use. AppleTV work only bluetooth, right?.

Is Bluetooth worse than ant+? I have a MacBook too. But I’m giving it to my daughter and replacing it with a new one. I’m just thinking it might be time to have something permanently set up in the pain cave.

I cant really offer clear advice Tommy, I've always used Ant+. I have read the odd issue with Bluetooth setups where a device will be dropped or not connect due to the order you install.
I think someone did get a apple tele and bought some kind of adapter to allow sensors, turbo connect through it

Not for sure is any of these protocols bullet proof but what i read is ant+ had a less problems. GPLama have a comparison these two connections.

I have a dedicated Shuttle XPC attached to a 32" TV. Doesn't take up much space and supports a nice graphics card (currently GTX 1060/6GB). Makes me able to run every simulator out there, and get the graphics I deserve. And it gives me the freedom of using both Bluetooth, ANT+ and thus connect to everything without having to buy new stuff to bridge BT/ANT+.

I use the AppleTV 4K. Great hassle free setup, but it isn't perfect. I had to get a replacement unit recently because of a failed software udpdate - you can't connect the Apple TV 4K to iTunes etc, and you can't restore via bluetooth either, so if an update fails it's a hardware replacement. Considering the cost of a replacement and the fact that Apple only offer a 12 month warranty, I wasn't very impressed to discover that a software issue can brick the device!

Yes - it is bluetooth only. My experience of bluetooth has been flawless, though. I pair a Tacx turbo trainer and Wahoo heart rate monitor to the Apple TV directly and have never had a drop out of either (except the HRM but the battery died - so not a bluetooth issue). There is a limitation of 2 devices that can be paired directly to the Apple TV (possibly 3, can't remember exactly). This isn't a big problem though because the Zwift companion app can act as a 'relay' - so you can pair additional sensors to the device running companion app and the data will be synced over WiFi. In this scenario, I'd recommend pairing the trainer and HRM directly, and any additional sensors e.g cadence to the companion app.

Thanks very much for all the info so far. Much appreciated.

Brusgaard do you think running your set up improves reaction time between you putting power down and Zwift responding?

Regarding the guys on Apple TV. It does seem like the cheaper option. Although the bricking thing sounds a pain... is there a specific version I should be looking at? I’m assuming I don’t need much memory if I’m only using it for Zwift.
