First time back on Zwift since the 2nd of March , legs a little stiff at first but soon loosened up,had to get off half way through the ride to go on to the main road to pick the wheely bin up and chase some rubbish about that the wind had blown over , got quite a few funny looks from people waiting for the bus as in my bib shorts with no shirt on and my excess skin all bunched up and hanging out of the front^_^

Looks like quite a few sandbaggers in C ... the person who came 2nd .... 4.1 w/kg, they should be in A let alone C! Every race they've been in they've averaged over 3.9w/kg, usually over 4 yet they are still allowed to race C .... I thought these people were being DQ'd?
I raced the 16.10 one lap London race yesterday.

The three fastest in the unfiltered seem to have been DQd as it’s the 4, 5 and 6th fastest in the podium places.

I got 5th place. 256W average and 3.2W/kg.

Was very happy with that. Trying to adapt my riding style a bit to racing. Managed to stay in a good group and got some good drafting. Makes a difference!

You need to get on and do stage 4 of BRVR goats league. It closes on Sunday and you currently have my time (as slowest) plus 5%. It's a long drag, took me 1:53, but I can see you easily beating that as I was struggling with 8km to go. First 13km I was OK, but in hindsight I may have gone off a little too fast.

Planning to do it tomorrow.

Looks similar distance to Stage 3 so it’s going to be a long ride!

How did it feel climbing on the Neo compared to the Kickr?

Thanks for the heads up, I think...

It felt no harder, and potentially easier. On the Kickr i always struggled to spin at 85+ in a low gear but this is much easier on the NEO. As I get into a long climb on the Kickr and it starts to overheat the resistance cranks up so pushing 180 watts feels like pushing 300 watts, so much so it just gets to a stage that I can't turn the crank any more. The NEO doesn't have this same issue so pushing what feels like 300 actually gives me 300 :okay:

On flats where the Kickr isn't overheating the two trainers are closer, although the NEO does feel smoother and easier to hold power/speed.

The positive is all those times I was working harder on the Kickr to hold power, I can now transfer this to the NEO to hold that power for longer at less effort

Planning on tomorrow too, just a gentle recovery ride tonight. Sounds like you have my issue of bonking on the longer climbs. I bought a short dated box of gels specifically for these longer climbs, hopefully they'll see me to the top

I didn't bonk in that I had to quit, or felt like quitting. I just lost the ability to push on the 'easier' yellow/green sections. Once the road went up I was able to stand up few a minute and push on. On the easier sections I felt fine in a lower gear just rolling along, which is fine in real life but not so good when I know you're going to set up my time as a target :surrender:

Still, on the 1:53 ride I averaged 227 watts. Was hoping I could have held something over 230 but still, not bad for nearly 2 hours of climbing so I shouldn't be too disheartened. At current weight this is w/kg of 2.84 At my target weight of 70 kg this would translate to 3.24 w/kg so I've got to be pleased really :okay: Being able to hold that w/kg for 2 hours was not something I could even consider a year ago :wahhey:

I read an article very recently, which did have an analysis of the early Kickrs and temperature. I cant find it now, but it mentioned how temperature affected the Kickr until it was warm

ZsunR are having a voluntary purge of, among others, gen 1 Kickr times as well as those where later kickrs bought but early software used. I am having to make some bkool fairy dust times private. I think we started doing this here and perhaps now most of us are running accurate turbos's its again time to do so?

Fascinating and the complete opposite of what the vast majority of users say. You were sold some dodgy Kickr by the sounds of it.

There was definitely some info too about how they overheat on long climbs. A common problem I believe hence why some use a fan on the unit to try and keep it cooler.

I've set to private my Bkool times where it was obvious they were incorrect (mostly climbs). The Kickr has been OK on Zwift when set to realism of say 50% or below; in fact, the only time it's gone wrong on Zwift was when I climbed AdZ at realism of 100%. It tends to fail around 60 mins of straight climbing hence why I've had issues on BRVR.

I'm setting faster times on the NEO in most instances compared to the Kickr so I'm happy leaving the Kickr times unless we spot one that is clearly erroneous.
