I was just able to stay strong to the end after kicking from a fair way out. I don't have a strong sprint so thought I'd ramp it up from a couple of km's out. :bicycle:[/QUOTE]
That's my usual tactic too because I too usually get nailed in the sprint I think I should have chased you down when you went but I thought I would be clever and slowly reel you in and sprint past you when you were knackered. Didn't quite go to plan

How did you like the Neo Carl?
Am I allowed to say it felt slightly easier that the Kickr? Smoother pedalling, and also holds speed better when I reduce the power slightly (the Kickr seemed to put the breaks on). On Box I set a PB beating all my Kickr times (still 1 minute off my best Pro time!!). Average 251 on the Strava segment for the race tonight and didn't feel too bad at the end.

Only problem, which is not the Neo but the bike, is I can't stand up as gears keep slipping. This meant I couldn't stand on Box (or the Tunnel) and increase power. Strangely though, I was able to spin 90 rpm and hit 275 watts on Box which I couldn't do on the Kickr - Kickr resistance on the hills feels harder.

So far so good. Initial impressions is I'm going to enjoy the NEO

Moving time 43:01 I can’t remember exactly the crossing line time but similar.
40.28 for you and 40.38 for me.

Rode most of the way together with @Milzy. That 10 seconds gap was entirely down to your sprint out of th underground station. I pulled 2 seconds back on the way to the lien but that was it.

What turbo are you using? There were some massive power swings showing up and a lot of the time they didn’t make much sense. You were often catching me with less power than I was putting out, going past me and then when your power level increased I was pulling you back. Really odd to watch when we were riding together.

TacX Neo, at 65kg. I was struggling to hold power tonight but I can stamp biggish watts for short bursts.
Pretty sure the Neo is accurate.

Not sure if the router been really far away from my garage or maybe a poor ant stick is anything to do with it?

When I was with you your avatar kept popping up and vanishing, suggesting you might have been losing internet connection.

I kind of enjoyed that. I thought I would be good after last week and found myself to slow to react to the fast group sprinting off. I almost tagged onto Pete as he gave chase but watching his watts I wouldn’t have been able to stay with him. This again left me in no mans land and no one to draft with till Carl showed up. I felt I had a bt more to give and kept trying to push on before Box. Carl came back and we pushed on at a good pace to the top. I knew he could probably blast past me in the descent so decided to draft him all the way and it worked giving me the edge on the run to the finish.
Carl, I didn’t toy with you , I just wanted us to push on the flat because I always feel time can also be made on an incline and with box coming I though we could get closer to the main group.
Glad you like your NEO.

I will check the connection tomorrow. Drawback to moving in the pain cave I don’t have Ethernet. EE router has dropouts

It just seemed you had more in Box to give but seemed to be waiting for me.

I couldn't see how far the others had gone so wasn't sure we could catch them - also, as I hadn't climbed before on the NEO i wanted to hold something back as I wasn't sure how Box would go. In hindsight I could have pushed a little more on the flats as I was quite strong on Box. Once I've fettled with the gears and they stop slipping and I can stand on the hills I'll have a bit more to give

Just out of interest how soon before the ride started did you guys join the pen?

Did you join on first time of asking?
No. I waited for the auto join and let that take me there. About 3 mins before the start of the ride. If you say 'No' to the auto join, then you have to manually join by clicking on the button.
