It got recorded yeah, just shows me as being over the limit on zwiftpower and saved to strava. Sounds like it failed to update on strava, which would explain why it's not on the results on ZP as it uses the strava data to confirm placings.

Just for ref, my strava is here and my ZP profile here.

296 average :okay: and team cyclechat I see:biggrin:

I'm afraid you are too good for Cat C - and will soon be racing in B. Be nice if a few of us improved enough to join you.

I know I'll have to upgrade at some point, but my racecraft is so poor that I would be better served staying in C and learning how to race properly, then when I move up I won't just be spat out the back.

Makes sense. I'll try and draft behind you if I see you

The HR consistency is fascinating given different in Cadence. It might suggest there is more in the tank if you can find a consistent Cadence you are happy with? Problem is although it's only an hour it's a tiring hour with only short periods of recovery
There's certainly a lag between increasing the effort and seeing the increase in HR. It could well be that the Watopia KOM just isn't long enough to evaluate with HR. We're only talking 2-3 minutes.

If I go back to a London race where we went up Box hill a couple times I have 260W/242W, HR 163/165BPM Cadence 89/84. So we see a higher HR, in fact bumping right up to my tipping point. The cadence is better -- it's almost certain I was seated. I know I can climb the Watopia KOM standing so I do so sometimes, but I'm virtually certain to pop if I was to try that on Box Hill, so I'll be seated for Box.

I think the conclusion to draw is for the shorter KOM climb I can/should probably dig deeper. 300W+, > 165BPM, cadence depends on standing vs in the saddle, but I think a higher cadence in both cases rather than more force is probably the way to get there.

Started really badly, was fscking around with spotify when the banner dropped and was the last person to get started I think. Passed a lot of D riders fairly quickly and caught up with a C group containing I think @JLaw, but there was another C group a little over half a minute up the road, and it was distancing my current group. I tried a couple of accelerations off the front to try to get the group to catch them, but they weren't biting, so I pushed off and caught the second group.

Stayed with them and rolled up a lot of Cs and quite a few Bs as well, but the group was mostly holding the same size with only one or two people contributing. After the final lap banner, one other guy, wayne mayer went off the front, and I tried to hold with him, but realised we were both pushing 4.5w/kg+ and I didn't want to get DQd, so I slowed to about 2.7w/kg just enough to keep off the front of the chase group. In the end it didn't matter as I ended up going above the w/kh limit.

Need to work on getting with the front groups, as I have to push too hard to catch up forward groups, and end up going over the limit. Still, only my third race overall.
Judging the start can be hard. It felt like the fast group went out harder Thursday than usual. They were off the screen before I made the transfer from the ramp out of the starting area to the road.

But that was OK. It was good to ride in a large pack taking occasional pulls and successfully executing a sprint plan after an hour of racing. If I'm reading ZP correctly, I did beat the pack to the line and 3rd best 60M effort I've had since I started tracking this stuff in Golden Cheetah a couple years ago.

Excellent. I think when you start there is more to be gained in performance from racing better than racing harder. I worked a bit harder than norry yesterday, but he did better than I because he wasn't having to work harder to chase down. Yesterday for me was basically an hour's TT at just under FTP.

By the way @JLaw what does the tick by the side of your name mean in Zwiftpower? When I hover the mouse over it, it says "Promotion Badge Total = 1"
It means I've been flagged once for promotion to B due to over on W/kg. I think that was the Apr 6 race when I seemingly had superhuman powers.

I think once you accumulate 3 marks, your results will automatically be ignored on ZP.
