Home all day tomorrow. No work, no paper work, work phone off!

The plan is to get the house guest ready for next weekend. But I’m definitely going to chisel out time for a ride. Anyone fancy a go at the alp? Group ride / friendly race? Or maybe something longer and sociable?

Deffo up for some kind of ride/race tomorrow. The Alpe though? Has Lee hacked your account or something?!

I think 'other gaming' is just one of the possible scenarios. Ones that would maybe hit a bit closer to home would be:
- recording your rides in high quality - bigger load on CPU, more RAM, SSD HD would be a good idea
- streaming your rides - bigger load on everything - CPU, GPU, memory
- having additional apps and/or overlays - Discord, YT, Sauce - CPU, memory
But all of this is very personal. I think that what you mentioned originally is good enough for high quality graphics with decent FPS and medium quality recording. That would be my use case as well as I already have PCs that do other stuff (gaming, work, etc.).
Yes of course - I never said or meant to imply that what I have is perfect for everyone- we all have different needs/preferences, and you need to take that into account with whatever you get.

As I said, if it wasn't for wanting to record ZRL races (plus a couple of considerations) I'd have actually been happy with ATV personally. So get whatever set up is best for you based on your needs/preferences/budget. I was just pointing out that it's possible to get pretty much the best graphics Zwift is capable of on a reasonably low budget if you are using the PC for just that.

But yeah, as you and Brusgaard have said, there may be other factors to consider if you're going to want to do more with the PC,

You're again just talking about a load of different scenarios that don't I don't use/don't affect me so paying more for the capacity to do those things would - in your words - be foolish

OK.

Exacttly. I spend more time in front of my Zwift/BKOOL/RGTVirtuPro PC than my other “Office” PC, hence I want the best experience possible (within reason) and use a 4K TV (running at 1440P).
My setup is not quite good enough for 4K, but 1440P is good enough for a 43” AND gives you way better videoquality when uploading to YouTube. But there is room for upgrading both CPU and GPU, so one day it will be running at 4K/60FPS across all the bike games. :okay: Upgrading that soon to be 7 year old GPU or the 2 year Old CPU first is the question.

Guys don’t worry, I think I can resolve this debate with some very simple Cliff notes…

Peter and bruusgaard like to watch porn in their garages on 4K TV’s whilst having the potential to live stream it to their friends. Paul is happy enough to watch porn in his house of the family pc like a normal person.

(You’re welcome 👍)

With all this talk of computers, I thought I'd look into getting a better rig:tongue:

Should I spend £2k on a NUC Extreme i9 with latest Graphics card?

or

alter Game recording to high and buy $19 screen recorder software ?

My Yorkshire long pockets are getting deeper

ZRL courses announced (2 & 5 TTTs).

Also "Segment Battle Points" for points races
No details on that apart from...

"Segment Battle Points (SBP) Starting in Round 3 of the 20022/23 season, all riders will score Segment Battle Points. More details to follow."

When can we start putting excuses in for round 3 . No idea of the date but I'm sure I've got something on

Excuses for performance or lack thereof will be graded out of 10, and anything under 11 will be rejected.

Excuses for not turning up will be rejected and your local "rescheduling representative" will pay you a visit
(With the exception of the "small persons exemption" on TTT weeks for those under 70kg )
