Lovely 5½ miles around Pitsford Reservoir this morning.. Quite breezy but not cold at all!

Too late for the sunrise but still not fully light.

Topped off with a Cookie & Cream/Banana Split double tub 🍦

Back home with a mucky dog in need of a bath 🛀

Taking a long walk in Winter is admirable.
Stopping to support the cafe is honourable,

Choosing ice cream on New Years Eve is Legendary 🤣🤣🤣

mini ck 2 wanted to go to the arboretum in alrewas so we walked around for a bit looking at the various memorials in that bitter wind followed by the cafe which i suspect is what she really wanted to go to .

HAPPY NEW YEAR fellow walking Folks 🥂

‘Puppy’ is only just 1. And the Wife (Notice the capital letter 🤣🤣) thinks I walk it too far. And hence during the day it’s lethargic. This Breed [Cairn Terrier] was bred for hunting vermin etc in the Cairngorms. And should be good for 8 miles easily. Maybe not at this age, maybe not in one fast hit; or maybe we’ve got a dud 😂

So……starting today: ‘we’re’ going to start our Mornings a little easier…..for her ladyships benefit 🐶 And aim for around 3 miles. Or one hour maximum. With a little longer - and a more direct route to the Beach at weekends. This will also free me up more time for 🚴 of course. Which is an aim for me in 2025 😁

So……today was a ‘Tour’ of Gunton Hall: via the Perimeter path. And same again with Pleasurewood Hills theme Park. And done at a time where it was just about light - but meant we missed the worst of the (Wet) weather due here in Suffolk at 9-10am….

Just a short local walk this morning as the blustery rain was starting so might venture further this afternoon when the weather front has passed over.
Bonnie the Bischon is good for long walks, too, and even after 7 or 8 miles she'll do a dozen loony loops around the garden when we get home 🏡

Happy New Year everyone, currently waiting for the weather to abate a little before heading off for our NYD walk. It was heavy rain, now it’s heavy rain with sleet. Lovely !

Back from our NYD walk, a 6.5 mile circuit from the house, headed up the Water of Leith, cut down through Baberton to the canal at Wester Hailes, followed that back towards town for a bit then cut up through Kingsknowe to the railway path through Colinton Tunnel. Wet all the way round, rain/sleet/wet snow.

Too icy for wheels but boots were put to use. Lake District looking clear from Helsington church and across the flooded Lyth valley.
