Short walk to see Daktari for a blood test this morning. Only a mile or so.
Further exercise is forthcoming this afternoon 👍

I was thinking of getting up and heading out before dawn to catch the sunrise but, as it was 100% cloud cover, I decided on a slightly later start!

Not too much to describe, really, but you might get the idea that Bonnie was enjoying it 😂

Up early (02:50) to drive to the Peak District with the intention of getting to the top of Shining Tor by sunrise 🌄

Flattish walk, to start, along Errwood Reservoir, then steadily uphill through dewy damp ferny footpaths, with frosty hollows, for a mile or so before the steeper climb to Shining Tor.

I reached the Trig Point with ½hr to spare before the sun rose.

Heading back down, the path had those big slabs that can be quite treacherous in icy conditions but all was OK this time.
I've almost been A over T on similar frozen slabs before!

Quite a steep, rocky , gully through pinewoods to Errwood Hall ruins where I stopped to explore..

As it was still quite early, I was the only person there.

Back to the car, parked by Errwood Reservoir, where I could now actually enjoy the view as it was pitch dark when I started!

6 miles walked before getting the Brommie out of the boot for a ride on the old abandoned railway track alongside Fernilee Reservoir.
To finish the day, and be able to call it a triathlon, I drove to Hathersage for a swim in the Open Air pool for an hour.
Lovely day out with a 2¼ hour drive home.. 👍
