Bempton to Scarborough and back. About 35 miles. When you stay in East Yorkshire for a few days Scarborough does seem like a huge city when you cycle into it. So does Bridlington for that matter.

Went on the club run this morning. It hurt. Especially the west wind heading back into Edinburgh. So, 50 miles done, 30 miles yesterday - not too bad. Tomorrow is a turbo day.

Another sub zero ride ;). Apart from a moton in a car doing a dukes of hazard type RLJ and nearly giving new year gift of a hospital trip to a family in another car and a brisk headwind, a pleasant ride.

Did 2 hours last night on 'The Tank' , lots of sheet ice on the roads which made for some amusing acrobatics, Managed to keep upright but the wind chill has given me a sore nose. The wife says it's because it sticks out too far ( my nose that is );)

Just about to go out this morning and it's got a bl00dy p******e * !!! Can't be bothered to fix it yet so I'll go a bit later ;) It's -5 here this morning and the wind is FREEZING ;)

* that's a schwalbe marathon plus with an added puncture lining in the tyre!! looking forward to seeing what went through, the hawthorns had recently been cut!!

Club ride today, it was below -5 when I left. 8 riders including a new lad who had only done about 30 miles before..

We did about 60 round the lanes of Worcestershire [ amazingly almost ice free, but then it doesn't rain any more:smile: ] .

I decided to ride the rubbish dump Holdsworth instead of the council skip Moulton as there was more of a chance staying upright on the former:laugh:

Tea stop was at the wonderful Revills at Defford, it was a toasty 3 degrees in the cafe.

We had to cross the A38 a few times which was very busy due to a tanker going over on the M5 [ no injuries, though we saw it and it looked unpleasant ] but the lanes were ok, a few 4x4s about.. they'll probably get stuck when the snow comes next week:biggrin:

Reliability ride next Sunday, hope it warms up a bit.

Too cold for my lungs as it was -2, so I er...bought a car. A second hand one.
Aaanyway on my way to buy said car I passed my local pub, The Pig in Muck, in Claybrooke Magna, and parked outside was an assortment of penny farthings in different colours and safety bicycles. I'm guessing hilldodger had something to do with it...

110km route to Dunkeld, not too cold but cold enough to stop for a coffee to warm ourselves at about 60km. Temperature rose a fair bit on the way home, helped by an increase in speed.

I went for a very short, slow but very enjoyable ride with SPOKES, especially the lunch/ pub stop . We had pretty good weather, chilly but bright. On the way home it started to rain, its bucketing now. PS I don't want to go back to work tomorrow:sad:

Oooh its nearly time to get the hybrid out ( bigger tyres, more contact)...it's slippery out there. No chance of using the cyclepaths, its road and bus route all the way for me. The cyclepaths are completely iced up. I came across some sections where its sheet ice...be careful out there ;)
But, its still, no wind, and properly dressed, a 3/4 hour ride home was still nice.
