Just a round trip of 7 miles to the nearest shop for bread and a newspaper, that was enough in the freezing fog with visibility about 150 metres.:sad:

Still, mustn't complain, there was no wind.

28 mile loop, lot colder than yesterday! 10 mph NW wind which did not help. Had planned to do 40ish but I turned for home early. Broke a golden rule, went out with the wind behind me, last 10 were a miserable struggle. Reckon taking the wind chill factor into consideration I doubt if the temp averaged out much above -3 or -4. Taking tomorrow off, tired of being bloody freezing all the time.

Bless me father for I have sinned, as it is the 3rd January and I haven’t been out on my bike this year, but it’s cold and I feel like shoot ;)

I wouldn't fret. I missed all of December because of severe tonsilitis, flu and a succession of colds and coughs.

I finally got out yesterday and today to see if my legs still worked. Thankfully they do - I've got a 100km audax next weekend.

I cycled to North Berwick today but after 69 miles on the bike I cheated and stopped off to pick up the car. Here's a few pics I took with my phone.
