Aborted ride here - explained in the Holme Moss Loop thread....... when your tyres start hissing with the build up of frost and ice on them, you think...nah - that and when a landrover skidded near me..... ;) pbbbbt

Bottled out today, just below freezing, heavy grey skies, frost covered roads and patches of black ice. So I cleaned the bathroom instead.

Gloriously sunny today,albeit frosty.
33 miles in the countryside, anywhere that hadnt had the sun, even at 2m was still frosty, yet i didnt get cold at all. (i had Bikesters, winter longs,2 pairs of socks, overshoes and latex gloves under my gloves ..hands a bit sweaty, but warm...and glasses on).
Took my camera just in case..the first time i went to use it , no memory card
Couple of Red Kite, flocks of Fieldfare, Green Woodpecker, many Robins, loads of birds out there.

One particular stretch of road hadnt had the sun all day, and i had a completely unexpected squirrely moment on the ice:ohmy:...shortly after i got out of the seat for a little dig, and felt the rear wheel slipping around. Be careful out there peeps.

Glorious ride, although i've not been out for much decent mileage lately, and the moderate wind buggered me on any inclines. I'm out of condition

What better way of spending 2 or 3 hours....

Was planning on going out early today, but it wasn't going to happen. Waited until mid afternoon and tentatively ventured out. Ended up riding from Swansea Guildhall to Mumbles/Langland twice as the other roads were treacherous in places. Coffee stop was needed in Black Pill so I took a photo of the view.

Whilst there I pointed out to a couple that their daughters' bike had it's forks round the wrong way and perhaps this might be the reason why she was unsteady on the bike! :bravo:

I've heard that said before by someone else !!! Seems incredible that someone woudnt realise something so basic .

The nearest i come to a cakestop is a farm on my route that has a decorated box on wheels outside...eggs and homemade cakes for sale. I have been known to scoff a cream cake or two on the way home :bravo:

A cold and icy 66 miles, came off before I even got to the Club Meeting Place, gently turning left and bang lying in the road had 2 cars stop and make sure I was ok which was good of them.
We were planning on Caton and Jubilee but gave it up as a bad idea with the state of the roads, Littledale was dropped as well and ended up going out to Carnforth had a brew and a bap and then wound our way back. Only saw another 4 riders braving the roads we did see some madmen playing some sort of game with a little white ball on white grass how bizarre.

17 mile extended commute tonight...i only live 2.5 miles from work

Dull and damp here today , but finished early today so at least not a commute in the dark. Lots of agricutural equipment on narrow roads, so had to get off at times and let them pass...always on a downhill innit

Gotta cook tea now..oh the joys of finishing early

15 mile commute tonight...
Very cold, lots of traffic in the town, then out into the countryside for a short loop. Nice and quiet once out of town, but the speed of the lighter traffic is higher, so that brings its own problems.
Plenty of frost buiding already (at about 17.30)
Did a mile of cyclocross  across a farm cinder track, thats turned into a mudbath ;) Good fun in itself...best give the bike some TLC tomorrow.
Then 1/2 mile of very shiny looking path in the cold and dark

Just a commute to another site, back to base and then home... about 24 miles in total - walked to the main road this morning, eased the speed off, careful at lunch on return to base - one road still frozen, then speed on the way home, until on the estate - gingerly round the corners..... although...one neighbour did follow me all the way from the main road - stayed well back....although I hammered it up the hill to the house once I found it was clear, until the last corner, when I slowed again.... Thanks mate....sorry about my rear lights...you'll need a lie down now.......;)
