Too much snow to contemplate a leisurely cycle this morning but in the afternoon took a run to the paper shop and extended it a bit to make a round trip of 10 miles. A stop for a Glenmorangie and then an Old Pulteney on the home straight seemed quite justified in these low temperatures.:sad:

Justified indeed Snorri, rude not too

A chilly commute this morning was absolutely wonderful  I woke up before my alarm went off and set off half an hour early so took the scenic route. Riding to Saddleworth past the Pike as the sun was just beginning to show hints of brightness behind the hills was one of the best starts to the day for a while.
It was also a useful reconnaissance as I now know which roads don't get gritted round here.

22 hilly miles on Walter the iron horse, road MTB with touring bits. Wind from the nw. Cold.........no colder than that, snow patches, ice covered puddles.

Got ignored by a roadie. May be it was because I looked like a Michelin man dressed by Aldi or may be he was just an ignorant w&nker, sunglasses and a beanie hat for f*ck's sake it. It appears to be the thing in Fife; roadies appear to think they are sufficiently aloof from us mere mortals. I loved it and tomorrow I will love it even more.

A great mountain bike ride that reminded me I love biking!

A really enjoyable club run, it wasn't half as windy or as cold as I was expecting. I then did some pootling round town, the temp dropped some but it still wasn't windy. I then cycled to my parents it was really cold an I was heading into the north wind all the way just before you get there, is quite a steep hill, though onlly 14% max. I usually go up it in the middle chain ring and sometimes in the large, today however I was in the granny  my energy was totally zapped by the last 67 miles, particularly the last 14.5, never mind there was only 2 miles to go. On arrival I realised I forgotten my specs and I've only got daily disposable contacts

Got out for a few hours. Done 25 miles. Stopped off at a local coffee house, when this Italian guy appeared from no where and said, how can you subject a Pinarello to this weather, are you mad! Well, I didn't know what to say!
