The Glue that binds us together.
Great ride with Southgate Cycling club, took Deb along for a club ride this morning, she did the 40 miles really well considering she has only been doing 12 or 14 mile rides, she struggled with a few hills but there was a lot of encouragement from other riders, had a cafe stop at 27 miles, nice bit of grub and a chat, then a nice ride home, weather was nearly perfect apart from a slight wind, Deb feels good about the ride and she is looking forward to next Sundays ride, as am i.^_^

As long as I breathe, I attack.
64.2 mile medium club run up to Tissington and back with some nice ramps.
New saddle was very comfy but i had no end of problems with numb hands and neck ache so i am wondering if its worth just bunging the old saddle back on again.
I had replicated saddle height and set back to stem so i am at a bit of a loss.

Could be you're sitting differently with the new saddle and leaning too far forward, hence the new pressure on hands and neck?

Out and about with the caravan again and stopped at Naburn lock (again) so a ride out and around Castle Howard for some nice riding before breakfast. After the climb to Bulmer my mind was wandering (new bikes and country living) and I managed to clip the verge and end up on my ar*e. It is amazing how soon you can get back up and moving when your pride has been damaged more than yourself, Only a few minor scrapes and the bike is fine. 30 seconds later a cyclist passed me the other way so timing is important when making a fool of yourself. Anyhow I have no chance of country living so it looks like a new bike I have gone of the Bianchi thoughts as the one I can afford has too relaxed a geometry for my liking and the search continues, Cinelli Experience maybe but it has one cheap looking paint job (imho)., or a last years model from various makers could be the way to go? My Sara was made with 74 degree angles and I don't want to change too much but 73ish looks like the nearest I will get.

Yesterdays ride took me through Bretton Sculpture park, I have never been a big fan of sculpture but some people have interesting ideas of what passes for art.

I usually load my routes to Bikemap.net to share with others but they have changed their site ( to improve it !) and in the process they have made it unusable, so I tried Strava and to my surprise I got a 1st place on 1 of the sections, I could become addicted.

Is it me or are those people at rowntrees making their fruit gums a bit bigger nowadays

30 odd miles, and a bit of a London classic redemption as I went over some of the lumps that hurt me when I was having chest problems last month. As per usual I missed out a chunk (this time brockley jack to Greenwich) on the garmin...

Here's some things I saw (after hearing a very loud woodpecker in ladywell fields)

Ride number 4 on the Trice today. 52 miles to Burnham Market (Little Chelsea) I just about managed to avoid the rain - but it seemed like the wind was against me almost all the way round. On my own today so I was dawdling at times.....towards the end, I was going as fast as I could (but still dawdling!!)
The route out to Burnham Market is not flat it rolls up and down almost all the way. No hills by real hill standards - but enough to slow me down considerably!

Been off on holiday this week and have had the back to work blues all day. On visting duties in afternoon and after tea went out for a wee spin on the boneshaker. My route took me over the Brechin bridge and along the Burghill road , turned down towards the Stanochy Bridge and climbed the hill up to the Forfar road. Rain threatening but instead of heading back to town went up to the industrial estate and followed a path that took me out at the posh end of Brechin.Headed back down to Tesco and got some supplies for work tomorrow. Run down to the other end of town and then home. The result ? 7 miles covered and my back to work blues gone, i swear even the sun came out while biking past the river. I feel in a much more positive frame of mind now. Amazing what two wheels and a wee ticky metal can do for your soul. Cycling.......the best medicine in the world ......ever. All the best Mike.

Looks pretty quiet for burnham market! And good to see Goose Beck (last pic) is running again. I read somewhere its water comes all the way from the Chilterns.

Yes the Beck came back to life a month or so ago. It does add to the charm. It was very quiet - but quite early so no one out for lunch. I doubt the water comes from the Chilterns.. .probably from someones hosepipe. I will have to see what I can find out.

Yes does seem very unlikely, can't remember where I read it now- or how they even knew.
Afraid I normally avoid BM these days- too many Chelsea tractors for my liking. They drive like they're still in London and if you're on a bike it can be prettty unpleasant. As Keith Skipper says, cobble the A11- that's the answer ^_^ .
