20 mile round trip to a local fair pulling Miss CP in her trailer.

Loads of other bikes out, must have been a local event?

A little downside was I took the long back road route to avoid riding in heavy bank hols traffic, and there were a LOT of cars on the back roads, more than normal (I ride these roads weekly, so I know the normal levels)

Did a group ride yesterday to Wellesbourne near Stratford-upon-Avon. The ride itself from Whitlock's End was 54mi but getting to the meeting point and home again made a total of 66 miles. I never, ever thought I had it in me.

Add to that the 33 miles I did taking the bike to Decathlon for its 6-month check up (mechanic had gone home), via the parents', I was THIS close to doing the ton this weekend. Unbelievable.

Did you use the airfield Cafe?

We went to the garden centre at Charlecote. I did note that as one for the future though.

I know the Charecote garden centre, the Cafe changed hands last Autumn and they refurbished it, the Cafe on the airfield tends to get very busy, I've been in there and waited an hour for my food before now.

As Gavgav has already mentioned, I rode over to his just after lunch and joined up with him and Doug (my brother) for a gentle tour round the lanes to the east of Shrewsbury.

The route took us out of town along the old canal route past Sundorne then to Upton Magna, Withington, Isombridge, and Longdon-on-Tern. The return leg took us through Marsh Green, and Rodington before heading back to Shrewsbury via Upton Magna again.

We enjoyed a break at the Bulls Head in Rodington for a swift pint (Shropshire Gold:hyper:). I haven't been in the pub before but was impressed with the welcome we had, so shall be back.

In the space of a week we have gone from miserable cold to glorious warmth and it certainly tempted out all the cyclists who were notable by their absence yesterday. Long may it continue.

After parting from the others I made my way home via the riverside (which was also really busy with people enjoying the sunshine) and home via the Belle Vue area of town which was surprisingly quiet (everyone is by the river ;))

My total for the day was 32.3 miles at a leisurely average of 10.7mph.

Crossing the A5 on my way home. The weekenders are all returning home.
Nice report mate . I must look into routes that take in a wee village pub.

Don't mind things that stay in the fields. Far too many deer on the roads around here and quite a few lambs as well. Yesterday morning a deer crossed just yards in front of my bike but must have turned back. Could hear a car coming up behind me then a loud bang. Turned round to check the guy was ok which he was. Front skirt of the car and his fog light were smashed though. As much as I am an animal lover and hate the thought of it, I think they should really be looking at doing quite a big cull before they cause more accidents.
Agree with you Mo. Manys a time i've been on my way home from deepest Forfarshire to Brechin at the back of 6 in the morning to be confronted by a deer. Been very lucky so far but the worst of it is that where there is one theres usually a second one not far behind.

Well that was a busy day! As planned I re felted the shed first thing. Then I prepared a beef goulash for the slow cooker and a ratatouille dish to go with it.Then nipped into town for shopping and a coffee. Back home I decided to sand and varnish the conservatory windows while I waited for my wife to get home from work. Then at last it was time to get the Trice out for a spin. Only 22 miles today - but a more hilly route taking in Sandringham where I would have stopped for a coffee if it had not been so packed. So that's my 3rd trip on the Trice and I really am enjoying it. I am also surprised at how motorists behave when I ride it. Today a car stopped to let me pull out!
By the time I got home I was more than ready for the goulash which was very good if I say so myself. (Mrs Poves had seconds - a sure sign of approval!)
Then a few minutes outside fettling as I wasn't happy with the steering today so adjusted one of the track rods, before I watered our newly laid lawn.
Now my shoulder is aching most unpleasantly - but it's been a great bank holiday weekend.

Did about 90 miles along the byways of Essex and Suffolk to Shotley, which lies at the end of a long rural peninsula, where you look across two estuaries to the ports of Felixstowe on the left and Harwich on the right. It was a warm day, and there were lots of people out enjoying the bank holiday sun along the coast round here, as well as in the postcard-pretty 'Constable country' villages like Dedham and Nayland. I finished with a train from Ipswich back to Cambridge. Great day, it's nice to have the warmth back.

Another time I'll try and include this little foot passenger'n'bike ferry in my plans :
