I had a good ride. First for about 3 weeks due to weather, wind, cold (suffering from not temperature) and getting home from work late. Did about 14 1/2 miles. All was great apart from 2 t0$$ers.

First was a couple of youths who overtook me just after a humped back bridge. As they went past the passenger sprayed something at me then gesticulated at me telling me that he is a "One hand Lover".

Second was a guy didn't want to wait the 1/2 second for me to go past the side road he was coming out of. I wish he had tried to come out as I was being passed by a car. He shot out as we went past but after turning left then went right as it was a staggered cross roads. He went at speed into road on the wrong side of the road, as he was going too fast. Coming towards him at this point was a guy in a Mini with a terrified look on his face. I watched as he indicated left. That could only mean he was pulling onto a drive less than 100m down the road here.

I then had several polite, considerate, friendly drivers. One couple pulled over on a narrow lane and waited till I passed. I said thanks and the guy said "No problem".

On the whole a good ride :becool:.

Seventy three miles of FNRttC including riding to and from the car park in York. Cold at times but a straight forward ride on the Woodrup.

No pies were harmed during the ride and its aftermath - an event as rare as the days that Allied Carpets don't have a sale.

The ride neatly seperated two gigs. Frank Turner on the Friday night and The Ukrainians on Saturday afternoon.

I'm going to sleep well tonight.

What a beautiful day! Only marred by idiot sportive riders running the red lights in Oakham. We had walked into the town to get some stuff and observed these twunts ignoring the lights on what was a busy Saturday morning, I shouted at one and got the reply over his shoulder to f**k off, at which I shouted at him to stop but of course he was too interested in his "race". Another one we saw was on tri bars, words fail me.
I wish I could average a "gentle" 19 mph but as it was we went out and did 44 miles at 18's and that was hard with me at one point tucked in behind dr_pink doing 17 mph slightly uphill and into the wind. I'm so glad she is still feeling a bit crock and wanted to take it easy
Tomorrow is the Rutland and Melton Cicle Classic, one of our friends from Cambridge is riding, I'm surprised some of the folks on here are not racing it [only slightly tongue in cheek] http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/road/article/roa20130417-Preview--Rutland-Melton-CiCLE-Classic-0
We will be riding out to Owston as usual to watch, will try and get some pics.

My wife and I took our new mountain bikes out to Usery Park for some nice trail riding today. The weather was gorgeous and the trails were a blast to ride...well except for the 0.5 mile section of wash we stumbled upon. That stuff is like quicksand! Otherwise, there was a good mix of different riding surfaces and PLENTY of hills.

All in all, we ended up biking over 8 miles and spent nearly 3 hours enjoying the great outdoors. Let's hope I have some energy left for a road ride tomorrow.

40 miles this morning nice and bright still a bit of a nip in the air, should have put my booties on, feet got a bit cold, hoping to get another 20 in this afternoon with the other half, need to get her back up to speed, she has not been on the bike much over the winter and she has been under the weather as well for the last couple of weeks, hopefully we can build up her fitness again.

44 miles through the countryside this morning. Saw probably a half a dozen or so other cyclists in all that time. Sunny but a bit cool at 7am, but definitely worth going out.

just back from another mad dash around Delamere forest on the mountain bike. Didn't get off to a good start with a fairy visit - one of those it wasn't flat when I put it away visits. Huge thorn pulled from the mtb tyre - never stood a chance! Loads and loads of people in Delamere - there are 2 runs on around the forest, and there is a sportive/road race going through on the road as well, so way too many people. We headed off down a few new routes, one or two of which were slightly testing to say the least. My OH used a dog as an excuse for not making a climb I didn't even attempt (2 dogs, a young child & 2 inexperienced adults (one towing a child carrier) on the climb was only going to end one way). We weren't able to help them out either - the guy's handlebar clamp had come loose but was a spanner/bolt arrangement and our multitool does not have a spanner, but we did point them in the direction of the closest bike shop less than a mile away at the cafe.We through a couple of water splashes, 1 was new to us, so now soaked head to toe in mud & water and needing a shower.
Otherwise a fastish ride and enjoyable. http://app.strava.com/activities/49860543 (oh - and a new QOM, an improved time on a QOM (took 2 mins off it) & a 2nd place)

A great ride out with mates to Oakham to spectate at the Melton CiCle Classic. Nice Sunny ride up, to the Bakers Yard, not cheapest but it has a perfect outside seating in a close protected from the wind  We got the feeling they hadn't dealt with much people, when they said they don't usually do breakfast (despite it being on their menu). They then asked for a non-existent table number and were unsure where we were sitting (as the table had no number), even though we pointed to the table with seven cyclists (we were the only cyclist!). My bacon bap (written order) then came as toast  The perfect environment and great company made up for any shortcomings though  On the way out somebody joked about their Italian Wine and somebody else went back in for large tall glasses of the stuff  After sitting down for a bit more we then made our way to the start, where we had the pleasure of seeing @totallyfixed and DrPink  We then caught a bit of the race on the hill to Manton.

Closely followed by the Main Pack.

Folk needed home so we then took the shortest route (the A47 ) but strangely in a pack of three it felt fine.
I also got back in time to see the Liege-Bastogne-Liege :becool:
