We went on a brilliant 87 mile ride out to Leighton Buzzard on Saturday, weather was perfect the whole way - Had to put on sun cream!

We set off at about 10:30am and followed the route which I'd made about 20 minutes before hand (which worked surprisingly well) using my phone. Unfortunately my phone hadn't charged properly over-night so I didn't have enough battery to run Strava!

About 30 miles in we found a phone on the edge of the road with the battery and the back cover a few feet away, looked like it had been dropped by another cyclist or walker, so I've emailed them and will send it off to them when they reply with an address.

45 miles in, just before we reached Bicester, we stopped off at a pub by the canal for a pint in the sun before continuing the rest of the ride. We reached our destination at about 6:30pm with a 6 and a half hour moving time.

The route we picked was fantastic (I'll send it to anyone interested) with the exception of a mile or two of busy A40. Plenty of lambs running about in the fields and the trees were just gaining their leaves. First proper ride of the summer!

Nice short ride today, in the sunshine, with hubby  (wonders will never cease). Due to hubby's dialysis, he left his car at a mate's house yesterday and I collected him in mine to carry on the working day. Today, we cycled from ours to our mate's house to get the car. Only 9.2 miles and it took an hour as hubby is not as fit as he usually is by April due to the weather. We had a slow and steady ride and it was brilliant. Only 2 idiots who seemed to think that a single lane, under a bridge bit of road, was a racetrack (I may have made a gesture to the second one) but it was not too bad. It seemed mostly uphill but that could just be the fact that we are about 20lbs over weight each at the moment.
Home now, salad stuffed and tea drunk. Onwards for tomorrow then.

My ride today didn't include a bike! A local Facebook group I am on organised a cross country walk. Only 5 miles but really nice in the sunshine. I don't do much walking, I either cycle, drive or use the bus, so after 5 miles I knew I had been walking and I still ache a bit. It has exposed a weakness in my fitness, so resolution, more walking.

Back on the bike tomorrow.

First ride on my clip less pedals, 22 minutes on bike, 3pb's on strava sections, back tyre burst. Then have halfords reject British cycling discount saying they only accept it at certain times in year. Seems every ride I attempt takes me back their and being on end of poor service.problems of a leased bike!

19 miles to stop the legs seizing after the fnrttc,

grey overcast sky an easterly 'breeze' not inspirational - though okay for a recovery ride

my intended time of setting off at 2, became 3, became 4, with the energy injection of a chocolate bun & an 'old' energy gel ,
this before the start of the ride................
