56km in the most beautiful conditions around the Clent hills, practising for the BUCS hillclimb in 2 weeks. Passed the Halesowen CC club run twice going in the opposite direction who did not acknowledge me at all....grumpy buggers.

Lots of cars, walkers and horses out too, but no problems.

A cyclo-cross race. Great fun but hard hard work.

I was out at 6.00am this morning whilst it was still dark and watched the sunrise through the mist on my way to Market Drayton via the country lanes. There was almost no traffic for the entire ride.

Saw lots of other cyclists heading out when I was on my way back home ( lazy bu**ers should get up earlier ) . Most were pleasant enough to manage a wave but a few did the normal ignore trick but I'll wave more vigorously at them next time

Finished off doing 40+ miles then had a good cleaning session to remove horse muck etc just in time for tonights ride . Happy days

Chucked two bikes in the car, headed to London. Parked in West Kensington, and wife and I rode up Hyde Park to meet my daughter who had entered the Royal Parks Half Marathon.

Traffic along Cromwell Road was terrible but in a kind of perverse way I enjoyed it. My wife was terrified and at one point got off and walked! Rode through the park, beautiful day, and watched the runners come in. Then with a few friends we had a small picnic. Fabulous. Then the short ride back through the traffic to the car.

BTW, here's a link to my daughter's Just Giving page. Please donate to her chosen charity, Motor Neurone Disease Association. A close friend and work colleague of ours is a sufferer from this terrible disease, and the MNDA give him great comfort and support.

Did a 51 mile Peak District loop. Fantastically enjoyable with some great views, good weather and someone broke down on the snake and two cyclists stopped off to help. When I stopped off later when I was knackered someone parked their car in a supermarket car park nearby and asked whether I was all right (hope I didn't come across as too Cadel Evans like, I was quite hyped up). People are good.

Hee Hee.

I did a loop around Manchester airport on the MTB. Mainly off road apart from through Styal. Discovered how to get to the south side of runway 2. When planes are taking off you are around 100m away - close enough to see the rivets. Very noisy.

Great weather in Manchester, sunny and 16c in October!!

I did my first 50 mile ride today. My legs are killing me. At least the weather was beautiful and the leaves are starting to change color. Over all it was a good experience.

On Saturday I went for the club run. The varied the route again but it was an enjoyable hilly ride (50 miles inc to/from the flat). I then put the sirrus in the car and took it to the parents to finish adjusting the brakes and fit the bar tape, I think I got it right in the end. Took it for circa 15.5 miles and my first thoughts on the new bars they are very comfortable and the transition from hoods to drops was good, it shifted and braked ok after some fettling en route and a lot the night before. I'm not to sure about the sora hoods though, they're not as comfortable as my campaq hoods.

10 mile commute tonight on the winter bike (rebuilt 80s Raleigh). First outing this autumn, and it makes me realise ive still got some bits to fettle.
Deep drop barkes are 'ropey'.
Front mudguard needs tightening
Awful heavy seatpost needs replacing with something lighter and more appropriate.
O/s handlebars and stem ...ditto

Its fully functioning and will outlast many a cheap bike...but it should ( and will) be better.

Not a bad ride. Not many miles and a quick time, legs hurt because I went for it, even up the hills. Refreashing though even to be out for a bit, because it gave me a break.

17.8 miles like usual - my legs really hurt at the end though and my knee felt really tight so I only got an average of 16.6mph - not a happy bunny.

Average of 20.4 mph for me tonight. Chuffed with that.
