Went out for a late afternoon pootle, cutting across country on lanes I'd not ridden before, then coming home on the faster B and A roads. Just wish I'd remembered to put my water bottle in the cage instead of leaving it on the shed floor.

hey - it was a beautiful warm day here - even got a nice (ish) sunset. warm enough to consider spring kit options!
Shorts . Ok fair enough it was "relatively" warm and I thoroughly enjoyed an early evening 22 miles in the hills. What made the ride really special were not one, not two, but three Barn Owls I saw and indeed stood and watched as they hunted along the hedgerow margins, made my day which hadn't been the best so far. Took this picture of flooded fields at 5.15, lots of water about but then we had a lot of snow.

My ride today on Sunday will be a bit special as we are riding with Rob Hayles up in the Pennines [sorry about the name drop but it is going to be a sufferfest for me] because we obviously enjoy pain .

my OH will go over to shorts - I will stick with 3/4 length knickers for the moment - have a tendancy to burn if I'm not very careful...
today had to have made it into double figures... it was so warm in the sun
Tis a while since I have last seen barn owls - we used to have them at the last place we lived in, but only get tawny's where we are now. you were very lucky and I think it would have made any day a good day.

I'm about to go out for my third ride of the day.
Not bad for a commute free week.
I set off this morning, planning on doing 20 miles(ish) but realised I'd forgotten the water bottle. D'oh.
I got the bottle, I filled the bottle, I just forgot to put it back on the bike. Turned round after just five miles as I didn't fancy hitting any hills without a drink.
Second ride was to fetch shopping with my 11yr old in tow. We did a 3 mile round trip at about 6mph, but it gave her some good road experience, including passing pedestrians who believe they are on a footpath but are actually walking down the middle of the road!!!!
Third ride, about to commence, will be the 4miles of cycle path along the river (which I did one way of earlier) and then back with eldest daughter who has suddenly decided she needs to exercise. She wants to go for a run too.
Can't have her showing me up can we?!

Was short(I've been mileage limited through persistent niggles) but lovely. Out again slightly longer over the weekend.

Wore sunglasses in Northern Ireland

Zero hassle from all but one road user who tried to overtake me inside the space I was in :stop:

Joked with a man riding a horse and trap about the recent scandal.

Petted a dog at my coastal tea/pee stop.

Got home as calm and relaxed as I was leaving the house.

No helmet camera, self promoted sheriff here ;)
