I sneaked out for a quick blast this afternoon on one of my regular routes. On the way round I seemed to be setting a fairly good pace, in spite of a couple of long sections which have just been surface dressed (they've ruined one of my fast bits.) so I pushed a bit harder towards the end and was rewarded with a new personal best over that route.:hyper:

I did 22.41 miles in 1h29 which is a 15.1 mph average.:wahhey:

Okay, so I won't win any time trials with that, but it's special to me.

22 miles commuting today.
Drive 16 miles to a village, park up, bike out of the boot and 7.5 miles to work. Side/head wind so gotta mush on because i only have half an hour. Arrived with 5 mins to spare.
From work...head/side wind..managed to maintain good speed on the headwind section, circa 17 mph on the drops for maybe 2 or three miles, then turning for the tailwind section, 19 to 22 mph on the flat for maybe 3 miles. Sweated like a pig, i absolutely stunk back in the car (well i have had a physical day at work as well).
Just got home, wifes out, so out for a quick circa 7 miler round town.
Overall average today...16.5 mph

All day in the office - delivering a technical seminar to a couple of new engineers. Sore dry throat. Horrible drive home through the centre of London!!!!
Me of old, would have reached for a nice cold lager - new me reached for the bike (son said I'll come with you) and we went for a 10 mile ride around the village, just as we arrived home, fish & vegetables was being put on the table!!!

57 lovely sunny miles drizzly miles with 3 other CC'ers this morning, a hastily arranged mini CC ride around the Cheshire lanes to a lovely little cafe stop at Wheelock.
It started so promisingly, I met SportMonkey at the alotted meeting point, we then became 3 as 400bhp arrived, we all then cycled 10 miles or so to join up with Hacienda71 for the remaining 16 to the cafe.

Drizzly rain seemed like the only dampener(^_^) of an other wise decent day, little did I know that a more serious incident was about to happen.
A few miles after the return leg started we hit a bumpy, lumpy, potholed bit of road, 400bhp's bottle came jumping out of the cage and straight under my front wheel  I did my best to stay upright but had no chance, my most spectacular fall yet at around 20mph.
It seemed that apart from a few scrapes and a twisted front shifter, I and the bike had gotten away lightly, but a few miles later the worse happened and as I changed down a couple of gears my rear mech broke off and that was it.
Fortunately the lads had enough fettling skills to sort me out a bodged up single speed fix, for the remaining 25 miles

Hopefully the next one will be more 'boring'

No photos of the incident, but heres one of a 'hazard' we encountered earlier.

30 mile odd ride today. Rode to Sutton from Brixton, the plan was Epsom but the garmin kept giving error message on calculating a route there. Got to Sutton wasn't sure what next. Pluck to go Croydon. Took the cycle paths through a park ncn 20something. Croydon to balham to stockwell and back home.

Total miles 44.1
