A nice afternoon in the forest with family, was a bit on the warm side pretty hilly in parts, hard work towing the little one around although i can feel when she is pedaling, stopped at a couple of pubs for a nice well deserved beer.

40 very hot and hilly miles with stunning views and a lovely cooling breeze. I love Somerset and Devon.

Just short of 50 miles for me today. Very hot, very hilly and very windy. Saw a chap and his mrs on an upright bent combination tandem at the top of The Brickworks rather odd:wacko: . Rode upto Pym Chair with a bloke on his way to Shap to the tea rooms. I headed over the moor opposite the Cat and Fiddle towards Axe Edge then dropped into Buxton (a great long fast descent). back via Long Hill to Whaley and then back doored it down the A6. Glad I put sun cream on. DIY now to keep swmbo happy:whistle:

13.5 into work this morning, travelling light as the weather is steady (no just-in-case waterproofs needed) and no bag as my shift colleague brought dinner in, so no rack! Random sight on my way in, proceeding Westwards along North Bank between The Dog In A Doublet pub and Pearces Road which leads me to work, and just as I'd dropped off the flood bank near the lock-keepers bungalow saw a parked VW Golf on the verge. Nothing unusual in that, popular fishing spot, onyl no fisherman visible. About 1/2-3/4 of a mile further on spot a girl walking along the road, on her own, nothing with her, start wondering what's up, then I see her look to her left into the river. Something is in the water and I see this black snakelike object break the surface, which resolves itself into the arm of a bloke clad in a thin wetsuit/all-in-one swim suit, steadily front crawling up the River Nene. Never seen that before

Just 15 miles commuting today, but a lovely 15 miles...
Early morning, no traffic at all, countryside roads taking in a small river with swans and their downy cygnets, mist rising off the water, the odd WW2 pillbox dotted along its length, the scene probably hasnt changed much in 70 years (and longer).
Light headwind on the way in, so light it wasnt really noticeable, but a good tailwind for 1/2 the trip on the way home..19 mph with hardly any effort.

Yesterday with the beautiful weather, I decided to make a move for the sea, 114 miles later I got home (http://bit.ly/LzMYhT)
I'm pretty certain I spotted Belgium on route

At Clacton, I hooked up with the council's promenade cycle path; I decided to stop here however, the signed path is on the left down 3 or 4 flights of steep stairs!

Today was a more relaxed day, I walked for a couple hours, and when I got back I hid out of the midday sun and went for a 33mile spin (http://bit.ly/LzNGMa) occasionally fast but occasionally slow ;) Oh after that I nipped to the Indian takeaway a mile up the road but I don't know if that counts as a ride ;)

22 miles on the road bikes today, last training session for our freinds, next weekend Amsterdam, stopped at a nice cafe about halfway, took a couple of pics of the girls, which is the one that needs a bit more training.

40 hot miles for me, a little hilly but not too bad, Out to Royston, and back via Steeple Morden and Hinxworth (and a slightly dodgy crossing of the A1).
EDIT - corrected the typo. 40, not $0!!!!
