36 mins up Eccles Pike from Whaley and over Elnor Lane, with a whizz down the end of Long Hill back to the village. The warmth was lovely and the summer kit was on.

Not today but yesterday. Nove Colli gran fondo in Italy. 205 km, 3840m of climbing. 8hrs 12 minutes. One of the hardest days I've had on the bike

Found some off road strava sections on the route today, I got a pb on one bit even though you have to get off and walk through the works, must have been very slow last time I went that way

Went slightly wrong with where I intended to go, you know the bit that comes out at Carrington Lane?
Was meaning to follow the NCN62 to join up with the bit I know near Atlantic street, ended up following a sign back off road that took me no where near there  still good though, new sections found and lots of trails to explore on another day.

Just looking at your route now and I can see where you went wrong. Should have turned left at a crossroads that is easy to miss. You actually went even further than Man U's training ground too. That bit gets very very muddy with just a little bit of rain too.

Cheers 400bhp, have had a look and can see it too now, there were a couple of crossroads with no signs that I noticed.
Will have another go when I get chance.

There was a guy I spoke to who was saying something about it either being or joining up with the Pennine Way, is this right? Seemed to be a bit of construction going on around there.

Think he's talking bollox-IIRC Man U are extending their training facilities so it was probably that.

Lost it, got it again.
A cheeky 15 mile/45 mins at lunch. First time out on the bike in about a month after I screwed my knee up running. All feeling good, bike needs a once over though. Lovely lovely day for it, nice wind and sun.

Yeehaw !!!, my best mileage for ages.
59 miles, Peterborough to Whittlesea, Thorney, Crowland...on toward Holbeach via Shepeau Stow etc..
Crowland Abbey...

And a train station...in the middle of nowhere !!!!. All overgrown, no sign of where the tracks were, wierd.

TBF, the main building's just out of shot, somewhere near Whaplode Drove. Apparently (after some homework), it closed in 1959. Stood there looking, it was like a time warp.
Now, at his point, you'll see there's no pump on my bike ?...oooh, i left it on the stone wall at Crowland Abbey, some distance away, maybe 10 miles. Bugger, i bet its gone when i get back there....NO, its there

Fabulous day, circa 14.5 mph, i was never rushing, got home sweaty and smelly, but legs feel absolutely fine, as though i'd done a 20 miler, not nearly 60.
Little windy, but hunker down on the drops, find a speed that works...you could ride all day.
Nice fried breakfast in a cafe, mars bar and a bottle of lucozade...circa £4.50...best days entertainment for that kind of money (we'll overlook the fact the bike cost in excess of £1K )

I horribly underestimated the heat and headwind today and totally flattened myself on today's lunchtime blast.

I did it on my tractor (mtb) and now I'm back at work looking like I've fallen in a river.

I could really do with a transfusion of reindeer's blood about now.

Love it!

Even better ride today, 19.2 Miles in just over an hour. Seems the cycling is coming back to me properly.
