Got out early for a 45 from corfe Mullen, to Poole, bere Regis, Milbourne st Andrew, Milton Abbas (up the bloody hill), winterbourne stickland, Blandford and back to CM  sun was out and missed the wind because I went out early. Was nice but the hill was a bit tough with my new 11-28 (from 12-30)! looking forward to it toughening me up a bit

Bit of a mixed ride today. 50 miles to Honiton and back, set off in lovely sunshine, then it rained, then there was hail, then there was more sun, more rain, then the sun came back out but the wind picked up.

T'was a good ride but I completely lost my nerve on the steeper descents and crawled down at the same speed I would have gone *up*. Feel a bit of a fool about that.

Nothing foolish about being careful. You'd have felt more foolish to have landed in a heap and forced off the bike for a month to recover!

36miles with a mate who recently took up cycling. Quite a flat ride the long way to Chester from Wrexham via Holt/Farndon. Had to take shelter in a pub from a bad shower which was a real hardship:cheers:
Home via quiet contry lanes, but covered in mud. Bikes now washed and lubed and I'm showerd and lubing with a perry

Seventy miles from meanwood, Leeds to Howden and back done as a DIY 100km Audax. I went over distance and completed the seventy miles at an average of 13.3 miles per hour - a lot faster than previous rides but I did use a road bike instead of my tourer for this one. Cloudy with a bit of sun, rain and hailstones.

Brings me back on target mileage wise for the year.

About half way round today's ride my bike ceased up and I had to call out my wife to rescue me. When I got home I found my rear axle had broken. I haven't a clue how that could have happened.

I can go down straight descents OK but if there's any bend/ rain/ gravel etc, I can lock up too. The only consolation is I've never came off doing that, so I guess erring on the side of caution is no bad thing.

60 miler today as BBC weather forecasts got it wrong. To my advantage, I have to add. I was promised rain on the top of a mountain, but got a sunstroke instead. No complaints, though.

Route: Paisley - Kilbirnie (on the cyclepath), Kilwinning on the roads, down to Irvine and Barassie. Up the road to Kilmarnock and to Fenwick. Then the single track road over to the excellent B769 and over White Loch (with many anglers) and down to Craigton Road. The ride had been superb so long. But Craigton Road and then Springhill Road down to Barrhead was the best piece of the ride. Excellent, absolute excellent. Then home again to Paisley again.

A sunny day and I have no complaints.
