23 m today on my commute, 7 before the train 4.5 after the train, going home, 4.5 before the train and 7m after the train. The last bit was slightly uphill against the wind, and slow 12.2 mph A repeat of yesterday. When I cycle my commute becomes 2 1/2 hrs each way

Was short. My chain broke as I pulled away from the lights in Coulsdon and I hit the road. I have bruising on the hip and knee and a grazed elbow which you could look at here if you want. The bike needs a new chain and bar tape. The right hand STI lever is scuffed but I hope undamaged as are the pedal and the rear changer.

Oh and shredded half of my favourite merino armwarmers.

Grazed elbow???? Gashed elbow more like.

87.69 miles today. Think I was being a bit over ambitious, given that I have been a very lazy cyclist the last couple of months having been ill. It's amazing how quickly your fitness goes. Normally I have no problem cycling to the club meet, doing the ride and then cycling home again.
Going down I wasn't so bad - 24 miles in 1hr 35.
Just under 40 miles with the club.
Going home was another story - 24 miles in 2hrs 14. I was really struggling the last bit, totally flagging. I had to stop at the shop on the way home and buy a chocolate. Some lager also followed me home which was a struggle. Carrying 8 bottles of lager just over 4 miles home up hills when you are flagging is really hard going

50 mile round trip from home over Hartside with half full panniers and the Drift X170 on the handlebars as a trial, getting up Hartside was harder than I remember but I am a couple of years older since I last rode up it and there was a strong wind today. Going down towards Alston was not the free wheel that I expected but I enjoyed it apart from being buffeted by the normal motor bike crowd and a group of expencive sports cars. Used some of the Sustran route from Slaggyford. Overall a slow time (very slow) but I was satisfied and V tired

Surely, that warranted another stop to lighten the load

Havent found time to ride the bike for the last couple of weeks, but I was "home alone" this weekend, so 18 miles on Saturday. Today I was feeling a bit weary but still managed to do the same route again. My backside is complaining a bit now........

Cycled an hour into the wind and generally uphill with the intention of a pleasant ride back once I turned round! Did the good samaritan thing when passing a fellow Bianchi rider who'd suffered his second puncture without a second tube. I gave him one of mine which would have speeded up his journey home.

No normal ride today despite the lovely weather this afternoon, feeling lethargic and tetchy, so out for a quick 10 mile ride tonight to get some milk. Ages since i rode after sundown, still lovely and mild.
Blown away the cobwebs nicely.

Quite a short one - a mere 16 miles trying a new saddle.
Brommie saddles don't work for me at all on a Brommie, but it was rather good on my road bike.

One of the risks of going for a ride with a mate who likes a drink :stop:

What started as a nice steady ride... we spent half the day out, ended up with 4 pub stops, 7 pints...and only 25 miles  .
Very very good, funny day with an old friend , been promising to ride together for too long (and never quite managing it), some nice scenery, 2 buzzards, which are not that common round here and reasonable weather...just a shame we didn't get some more miles in

And no, it's not clever, funny or wise to ride while intoxicated....

No time for decent rides, but regular commutes extended to around 15 to 20 miles a day.
So so much traffic in town lately and todays ride was 'busier' because of the football crowds. More stimulating riding in traffic, but there's not so much worth seeing.
Seeing lots more roadbikes around lately, not the clubrunners but commuters i assume. Nice to see. Is it the same elsewhere ?
