Marie Curie 10K run at Kelmarsh Hall with Mrs VC. Now that's out of the way I can get back to being a cyclist again . BTW it was too hot and airless to enjoy, at least with cycling you generate your own wind.

Hey don't do that. You're one place above me on the MycyclingLog table - and only 0.6 miles in front!

We have now purchased a cycle roof rack for our car, so had to try it out with the cycles attached. We went on a 100mile round trip to Rendlesham forest and had a fab day cycling around in the woods

S'funny - so have I. I also tried it out and drove to Draycote Water with the dog and my lady. Didn't plan to ride at all - but Wendy suggested I at least go round the lake - so 5.3 easy miles for me today ... and I know how to transport my bike now

haha yes it was quite easy for my hubby to lift them up onto the roof, we thought it was going to be quite difficult to lift up and attach, but it was really easy.

Draycote Water sounds interesting, where is that?

I did my first 100 mile ride yesterday.

Up the North Antrim coast road from my house just north of Belfast and back home.

Very, very windy on the way out. I struggled to do 5 minute miles. With the wind on the return leg I was at 3 minute miles, or less, most of the way home.

I had a sore bum and a slightly stiff back last night. Feel good this morning though.

Thought it was chilly outside so I put on arm warmers and leg warmers, 5 miles in I had to take them off and let my pale arms and legs out for the first time this year. It was a short 17.5 miler today to test my wheels and my legs(Haven't done much in the past few weeks). Fairly hilly route with a 25%er in it. Was a nice ride.

Beautiful day here, a tad windy but beautiful nonetheless. I decided it was about time I broke the solo ton this year (101miles) and took a flattish route route From Dunfermline to Perth and out to Crieff then back to Auchterarder. I've done a couple of longer rides but not on my own. After about 66 miles I decided I was bored with the flat stuff and decided it was too short so I headed for Dunning and Path of Condie. Maybe a 21% in to the wind wasn't my best decision. It ended up 5500ft of climbing.

On my return I came in by the east side of Dunfermline, I don't often do that. A lot of roundabouts have been added on this approach but I knew I'd have a strong wind behind me and scalping moving motorist is fun.

A few snaps captured on the camera phone.

Just got back from my second ride of the day
Did a 45 miler this morning, which left me about 18 miles short of a 500 total for this month (my highest ever monthly total  ) it's the last day of the month, and we can't have that, now, can we? And it was such a beautiful evening (bit of a headwind on way back though)... I did a straight there and back route of 21.5 miles... so got my 500.
I can't say those miles were easy, but they were worth it!
So some arbitrary target set by me leads me to do something my body was telling me not to.... I love cycling :-)

Went for a trip to the doctors today and ended up doing a trip round the Forth crossing both the Forth Road and Kincardine bridges.

47 miles in fabulously sunny weather.

Maybe a 21% in to the wind wasn't my best decision.

HLAB, fealt the wind all the way home after coming across the Kincardine bridge and now feeling the effects of it in my legs.

I was out Auchterarder/Gleneagles way today too - had to detour as the road from Yett's O Muckart was closed. Had planned about 80 miles taking in Cleish Hill, Into Dunning then out via Path of Condie and onto Falkland hill twice (from Falkland then back down the same side then up to the big TV masts. By the time I got to Milnathort after Path of Condie I was shattered so didn't do Falkland hill.
Still managed 60 miles but very disappointed as this was a training ride for the Trossachs Tonne. The only reason I can think of is I'm not properly over a cold/virus or whatever I've had lingering for the last 10 days or so. Will take it easy this week and try again next weekend this time with a mate.
