You do do good ride reports Fairweather and LardyBoy. Fantastic scenery from the photo's.

I tried to take doughnuts to the LBS as they're moving this weekend and I thought they might appreciate them. No sign of them at either place so I've now got too many. Around 3 miles in total.

In no way impressive blast across south Manchester from Flixton to Ken Foster's bike shop in Chorlton and back - probably not much more than 10 miles but the first proper stretch of the legs for my road bike, which turned out to be unexpectedly good at crossing playing fields and... well, just fields.

Today's ride was a lumpy one, we went to The National Herb Centre at Warmington, a place I hadn't visited for almost ten years.

It was also blowing a freezing gale that seemed to be in my face which ever way I turned, It was also a bugger trying to work out what was best to wear, I ended up dressing to light for the weather and was cold for a lot of the ride. It turned into one of the hardest rides I had done recently but it was also a very good Sunday out. I did seventy very hard miles, including some good climbs that I hadn't done for years, I can feel every one of them in my thighs tonight.

:laugh:Growing your own canes the lecy bill to much, there's a friendly dealer round the corner.

Clevedon to Frome and back, over the Mendips, 65 miles in total. First ride for nearly three weeks! Yep, staggering how I've managed I know.

But on the positive side the new wheels are lovely and my new clipless pedals are luverly too, along with my bright shiny new shoes.

Three weeks though and I noticed it. My legs might have woken up again by next time...

I've taken to cycling at night time now, been heading out at around midnight for the last few weeks. No traffic is a nice bonus. The route i'm doing is just over 3.5 miles with a nice hill in it, so i'm going all out on the hill, then taking it easy for the rest of the lap. Distance varies from 15 miles up to 40 but it's not exactly done for enjoyment! Looking forward to getting home and heading out in the countryside in the sun.

75Km down to Naesby - bit of a nature spotting ride - 1 deer, countless rabbits, ducks, sheep, squirrels, and finally being mobbed by a heard of cows - one of which tried to climb on another ahem......
