Lovely thirty miler today around Caistor and its surrounding hills, Beautiful sunshine for most of the way, but a fairly strong breeze enhanced the workout on the way back. I feel spring has most definitely arrived (even though the forecast for the coming week is cold! It's always cold for Easter isn't it?)

54 miles to Hallaton and back - the hilly way - and it was lovely

Nice one Kirstie. Glad you are back in the saddle.

59 miles in the sunshine with wild daffs in the woods and verges, some lumpy hills in the lanes and some potholey lanes too. Superb views on the ridges we climbed and a super cuppa and T cake in the cafe.

A very windy 50 miles. Having to pedal downhill to stop myself slowing down is not natural neither is going back up the hill faster than going down it. I packed on an Audax, I couldn't face the hilly bit bang in the middle of the ride - not that challenging in itself but the wind took the pleasure out of riding today.

I struggled across the fens, out and back, with a 1000mph cross wind. I hadn't realised how tiring it is riding leaning the bike across the road to keep in a straight line. The head wind for the last few miles were actually going to kill me
Must get fitter.

Cheshire Cat 100...flippin 40 mile headwind out to Malpas....!

Great Fun, maxed hr at 191 going up Mow cop.... loads of spectators on the hill, only about 50% made it I'd say. Some cheeky (but funny) kids in their front garden taking the mickey....'go on hurry up'....etc....this was just after the steep section...

Myself and 2 mates went to Glentress to do the Black route. First time I've been down there for nearly 4 years. Completed the route with only a couple of minor spills but I'd forgotten how hard MTB-ing is. Sitting here feeling quite tired and a bit sore in places

26 local miles of riding like a pro or battling against a bonker head wind. (very tiring)
Nearly had on off when two cars, nose to tail decided to turn sharp left across in front of me. All good fun.

A 62k/39miles Brevet Populair ride with the Stevenage CTC. A very good ride around the Hertfordshire lanes. The last 20 miles into a strongish headwind.

A ride out to Earlswood this morning, slightly spoilt by a massive headwind, it was more like a training ride than the leisure ride it was meant to be. 52 miles there and back, most of it riding flat out and struggling to get above fifteen mph. It was nice to see the Daffs out though.

A twenty mile pootle in civvies to pick up some levers from a very nice chap who showed me some of his very lovely bikes.

On the way back I came across a neat canal bridge. The road lifts on hydraulics to allow boats to pass underneath. The barriers were down so I went and had a pint to pass the time.

Loads of riders out today - much more than last week.

went out through to Barston and Eastcote, hit part of a route of some sort of cycling event - not sure what one but plenty of riders on that stretch and some road signs up showing the way - then out and around the airport and through Marston Green - won't go that way again soon the roads are really rough and potholed at the moment. only a few miles longer than my normal weekend route but the wind wore me down quickly. 14 miles in total this weekend. Looking to slowly increase each week.
