A quick 41 mile blast between Tavistock & Exeter... great views with nice weather & very different type of riding, far more technical & hilly compared to Cambridgeshire roads.

I'm rather annoyed that the BeOne wouldn't fit on the bike rack for the car so had to take the boardman.

Kirstie, sorry to hear about your auntie.

50 mile round trip out to HalesworthMetfield in Suffolk. Cyclists everywhere and a largish group was going the other way at Kenton near Debenham, including one who spotted the CC jacket I was wearing but no idea who he was!

Suffered a bit from the effects of a new health condition, Wii Bowlers Leg, which has given me a sharp pain straight up my right thigh.

a really nice cc ride with fossyant, alun, dan_bo, totally_fixed (+1), longers and sh4rkybloke.

most of us were riding fixed too. never seen so many other riders out, other than on an event. makes me realise why my club does its main run on a saturday…

Poor ride today...set out for a couple of hours, punctured after 5 miles...a very fast bang and deflation . Walked 1/4 mile to get to a quiet spot, a hefty hole in the innertube. Put in a spare tube and set off. Got another 10 miles...another puncture :tongue:!
Repaired and set off again with slightly under inflated tyre.
Wind in my face 3 out of 4 directions...and the tailwind section wasnt really a tailwind. How can that be ?
Saw 2 Red Kite...about the only highlight worth mentioning, although it's nice to get shorts on and not overdress. about 14, maybe 15 degrees here today.

Vredstein tyres are going to get binned, they've cut up something terrible, there's loads of debris at the roadside (its been raining here over the last couple of days).

Still, did 18 miles but took me about 45 minutes longer than usual due to the punctures.

Well what a superb day today. 68 miles over quite a few hills and with some superb scenery. Too may hills really as the pace was so slow we didn't get back till nearly 4pm. Normally it's 2pm. Wild Daffs are beginning to flower and I heard a chiff chaff too. It's official - it's spring.

Out at the back of 7 this morning and was back home by 11. 63 miles loop out through Strathaven, Muirkirk, Douglas then back home through Lesmahagow and Larkhall. Quite a fresh headwind in parts but a good tailwind in others. Saw quite a few other riders

Club run today, Great rollright, Wiatts Farm Shop. Left home about eight thirty to run down on my own, discovered we hadn't lost the cold strong wind, a bit in my face,. The other side of Kineton was on lanes I don't know well. I got a bit lost around Tysoe and took a wrong turn the other side of Sutton Under brailles ended up on the Main road and had to ride through Long Compton and up the hill, arrived at the cafe just before twelve with forty eight miles on. Started back with the fast group and got dropped the other side of Whichford, rode the rest of the way home on my own and got back about a quarter past four with ninety nine miles in the legs, the biggest mileage I've done for years. An excellent days cycling in bright sunshine.

I managed a lumpy 25ish miles. Less than I'd intended as I discovered my knee isn't as healed as I had hoped. Caught slightly off guard by the weather too, too warm for the jacket but not warm enough for a single layer.
To be honest I'm getting a bit bored of solo riding but never manage to make it to the local club rides, I suppose I get myself a bit more motivated in the mornings.

Did you do Whichford hill?
The nasty going uphill way I mean ... gasp!

Yes, and a few others, the bike isn't geared for climbs like those, 44-39 with a 13-23 eight speed cassette on the back, I can feel them in my thighs as I type.

75 ish miles to Monmouth and back from Malvern , my first international ride of the year:laugh:

It was a club ride but two of us got separated from the group [ due to them not waiting when I had a mechanical after the cafe stop ] and ended up turning it into a training ride . My mate had a Giant OCR and I had my Holdsworth touring 531 3 speed... tough but highly amusing ;)

I didn't win the final hilltop sprint to the Wyche Cutting 30 sign, now there is a surprise:tongue:
