hey guys you all are doing 20miles plus is this about the norm on a weekend?

If you get hooked gbs...20 miles is like a quick spin round the block ;).

I do a 19 mile midweek, just to keep the mileage up, and hopefully a 35 maybe on Sundays, plus a bit of commuting mileage....and lord knows, i'm a novice compared to some here

20 miles a spin round the block!!!
how long roughly would that take you,

64 miles done yesterday. Hilly, through the Vale of Belvoir. Got a tad lost, not my fault, and ended up doing more miles to the cafe. Was good fun though. Chain-ganged on the way back, was pretty fast. About 27mph.
Today, was only 27.11 miles. Wasnt hugely fast, got a TT tomorrow again, hard ride yesterday, so thought i would just go out for a spin to keep legs loose. Ended up seeing dad, so raced him home. Speed staying up at about 30mph, took the courner at the top of the road fast then sprinted off and left him:thumbsup:
gbspark, to answer your question, no, not on level ground, and no real route. I go out on club rides on sundays(will be saturday soon aswell) and basicly follow the lead guy.
The hilly 64 was slow-ish because it was hilly, the Vale of Belvoir has some good climbs. We are also going slow for one of the club members at the moment aswell. So 64miles yesterday took me 3:39, had a stop after about 36miles.
I do alot of miles, but there are people on here that do even more. Was all built up though.

gbspark, yes 20 miles is a quick run, done at flat out, just a bottle of water and back home within the hour (and it's hilly where I live) - I usually have a circular route.

Most of us ride at least 20 miles per day, every day (lots of commuters here) then dive out at weekends for a quick couple of hours (40 miles) -

Keep at it, keep training and you'll get there !

Really nice ride home tonight. Finished work at 7 and had a great ride home, the evening was nice and cool with a very slight tail wind and I was home before I knew it. What a difference it makes missing the rush hour.

gbspark, take it steady and you will soon build the miles up. Some mornings if the weather is nice and I am up early I extend my morning commute in from 14.5 miles to 25 miles, what a great start to the day

Joe - I just wonder whether I have seen you before....I passed a young guy riding in the opposite direction in the same kit as your avatar when I was going south from Denton a few weeks ago.

Hmmm could of been me. Depending when it was, sunday or wednesday is when i'm normally there on the club ride. I'm normally out infront then with the group somewhere behind me
Could of been one of the other young people in the club though.
Young Un, weekends and wednesdays club rides. Tuesdays out on the club TT in the evening now, then the rest of the days(except saturday, rest day but will soon be another club ride) i go out on my own in the day. Dont underestimate the seniors though, the experience the have and sometime the power they have is amazing.
Bonj, thats a good time, you should add some hills in;) :becool:

went out today to see if Andrew had recovered from the 200 miler a couple of weeks ago, before a 100 later in the week.set off in fine conditions and then it poured down at the start of the climb over to slaidburn.
over the top it was horizontal rain for a few miles. 5 miles later it hadn't rained and the roads were dry.
still had a good hilly 40. should have been 50 but we cut short after the soaking.typical summer ride:biggrin:
