Nice ride out with a couple of mates - wet and muddy but good to be out. One killer hill that was very unpleasant apart from that lovely. Probably about 35 miles in all.

He's five and a half pounds now and doing well so far, which is nice.

Great news longers!

Cheers 3BM. His progress is mostly good and you can't ask for more than that.
He's still tubed up so holding him was a worry at first but it was great to have a cuddle :becool:

He's now only a mile or so away from his mum and dad which makes their life a lot easier and I can pop in on the way home from work as long as they're there.

I also found out that my LBS is moving from about half a mile away to a whole mile away. Poor me

Just back from the weekly Bromley Massive CycleChat ride. At the Dripping Tap this morning was myself, BentMikey, Ergle and Mistral. Down the normal route of the A21 to Lewisham then the A2020 to New Cross. Tdr1nka wasn't joining us on the ride today but was at New Cross with Wee Miss Tdr1nka to wave us by. On to Camberwell Green, waiting for us was TTCycle, Tollers and Topcat. The usual route to Hyde Park Corner. A quick photostop and CycleChat jersey signing session.

Only 10 miles... but no ice or snow for the fist time this year!!!!!

Oh the joy of cycling

Quick 16.5 mile circuit on the Ribble - 1250ft of climbing, Avg HR 158, max 176 when I flew past a car that had pulled out on me and he didn't accelerate quick enough....I was doing about 25 mph, which soon became 30......

Chilly, light winds and a bit misty in the hills near Glossop.

24 miles over the tops into Rossendale valley to fix the gears on my mate's bike - all done with a quick twist of the adjuster, also tightened his headset down, which had mysteriously come loose - he's a mechanical numpty. Cup of coffee and some cake, back by a different route, 16 miles, feeling tired, got home, cleaned bike and had a hot bath. Glad I got out.

I made it like 7 mile round trip as opposed to the 40 mile planned 2 laps of my normal loop, a clipless pedal moment and trip into the gutter combined with forgetting my gloves and my hands being completely numb prompting the decision to head home.

Been doing like 20 mile a night for a couple of nights so its not too much of a loss iI guess. Need to get myself a computer though for sure!

100km Mesh Audax from Wetherby to Boroughbridge and on to York before doubling back. Faffed about too much which led to a 13:00 start and a finish in the dark. Didn't carb up enough for the start and played catch up for the entire ride.

Another hard sunday ride, this one was a flat, not even rolling, ride punctuated with the steepest & longest climbs we could think of. We did have breaks at the top but in our defence even on a dull & grey day the views were stunning. I've finally found a group of riders who are around my level & we can all push each other... let the games begin

The warning signs were there
I rode home yesterday, just a few miles...and yet it was such hard work, nothing in my legs, i remember thinking..WTF !!!

Its all come to light last night. Woke up at 2am, feeling nauseous, achy all over and needing the loo...bad.

Gastric Flu ? Ive normally got a cast iron stomach, but i vomitted more last night than in the last 10 years.
No work today...dont think it'd be very wise.

I always said, when you seem lacklustre on the bike for no apparent reason....somethings going on in the background, waiting to strike

I've just had the same thing and likewise not usually prone to stomach upsets. I puked so much the night before last I thought I was going to bring up my spleen.
