Took a 30 metre ride on the galaxy then the front brakes gave up on me...couldnt fix them as needed new cable so got it to the LBS and left it with them....went back picked up the Bianchi and rode along the coast into Brighton...then back and hung out on the beach at shoreham throwing pebbles at seagulls....then back here.

Short commute tonight, which was to be followed by an hours ride after tea....and the truth is, i cant be arsed.
Sometimes, its nice not to have to. I always think it's your bodys way of saying 'go steady boy'
On a double negative tonight, SWMBO was riding to meet me, and she'd been swung at by a stoopid teenager with a tennis raquet...just caught her on the finger. Sods ran off. I rode back that way with a view to calling the Police if i saw them...but nothing.
Sad, its unusual for something like that to happen here...i'd like to think it was just stupid childish high jinks.
Won't lose any sleep over it...but i'll be keeping an eye open for the girl in question.

Report it to the police regardless, they will use the intel to put resources in the area and show the scum they can't behave like that.

52 miles, 41 with the club. It was a funny day weather wise, fortunately my ride got to the cafe before the heavy rain, 5 mins later it was beautiful sunshine again. Not surprisingly when we hit the strong headwind I started to fade, we averaged about 20.2mph before I got dropped and my average fell to 19mph.
Giving the way I was feeling I was thinking about postponing my ride tomorrow but on the way home I had a couple of bad pull outs from cars/vans and I was able to overtake them all and leave them sitting, made me feel good again, so I'll probably do my ride afterall.

eschewed today's club run in the peaks (had a cold all week and don't feel up to lung-busting climbs) for a nice flat ride along a local bridleway and canalside. just under 2 hours of riding, with a nice pint in the pub at half way.

only spoiler is coming home to find that the alex are as good as relegated ay half time

Had a leisurely 30 miler from Aberdare through Penderyn and into Cwm Cadlan then back via the A470 and A4065 picking up the Cynon Trail in Hirwaun.

Only down point was that the indexing decided to pack up on my 'loaner' Cube Acid 09 so I'll be getting my hands dirty later on.

I had a blast up mam tor along the collapsing road, rushop edge, chapel gate, mam tor climb from edale, then back down the back of mam tor to castleton. Great ride but it's confirmed that the swing arm bearings on my mtb are borked. Would have overtook a roadie on the collapsing road if i hadn't stopped to take a picture, as he had to carry over the collapsed bits.

65 miles on an Audax from Wiggington to Brimham Rocks and back. Had a fast (for me) start averaging 14.5mph for the first hour then I got two punctures from Hawthorns through the sidewall of my rear tyre. I ended up being lanterne rouge for a while. The climb up to Brimham Rocks from Ripley was a grind. The best bit was tagging onto Clifton CC at Ripon and averaging around 16mph for the last 25 miles. Weather was perfect. Enough sun to boost my cycling tan; enough breeze to cool but not impede progress.

A gentle 50 miles jaunt in to East Lothian to scope out the northern section of the route from Coldstream for next week, hope there is less wind then...
