Been cold enough here that at one time there were five Robins under the feeder. All territorial disputes laid aside.

Yes we have had three together. We also had three male bullfinches who had declared a truce. Interesting yesterday that we had some field fare who were very territorial and not tolerating the blackbirds. I’d not realised they were so grouchy.

Yes, I have observed them chasing off Green woodpeckers which was a surprise. Got 8 Bullfinch together recently which was fabulous in the autumn sun. Sadly no camera with me.

No apologies for the poor pic. It was 4.15am this Morning walking the dog - and let’s say I wasn’t prepared………to see a pair of foxes frolicking around together (literally *playing’) down a back alley. They clearly heard me along way off - so I used the car as cover and darted out, zoomed in and grabbed the shot below.

Google suggests although normally solitary: youngsters may stay together for some time, males sometimes tolerate other males (or infact coexist)…….females are far less likely to couple up being way more territorial. Or they could of course be a ‘couple’.

The second tine I’ve seen a pair ‘together’ (Very different areas of Lowestoft) in a month. Having never seen it be before 😳

Out in the forest for a ride today and came across these tracks. Pretty certain there not dogs due to how they were focused in the one area and seemed to belong to a few animals. Also no human tracks nearby, so more than likely there Wolf tracks, the prominent claw marks would lead to that conclusion as well. We do have a number of Wolf packs in the area so I'm going with that.

Not today, but a recent shot of Cyril .... our little blue-eyed squirrel visitor, come to collect today's hazel nut .... or two. Sometimes it's a chestnut. He stands there staring at us until we comply.

Well….. did I see a bird this morning?!?!

I had heard that one was in the area, and at 8 am I walked into my first job that’s above the river Yealm.

In front of me, flying at eye level was a White Tailed Eagle!!!!! It was being mobbed by gulls and a very irate Buzzard.

I had gloves on and I was carrying tools. If you could have seen the caper and kerfuffle trying to get the gloves off and phone out of pocket while trying not to panic, and being dead excited made a fair old spectacle in itself!

Very poor phone pictures, but I’m so glad I got what I did.

The bird next to it is a Buzzard.

Last week was out to track down the black throated diver which has been around the harbour recently.
A great view 300 yards from the path. After a while becomes agitated by a group of Brent geese, i noticed it sat low in the water when they got even closer.

Pair of m& f peregrine's still on the flats near Asda, as seen on winter watch.

Deceased dogfish washed up at baiter.

Also a visit to my favourite place fleets outflow, ; goldcrest chiffchaff greenfinch cetis warbler. Always something there.
Low and behold Mr packham filmed there this week on winter watch. Had he been in that same spot a year ago , he,d be in amongst a homeless person who decided to get a massive tent pitched up there. He got moved on, the site got cleared. Tho another one turned up not too far away on a sssi .

On Wednesday I spent the day at three of my favourite nature reserves in Newport and Cardiff. Here are a collection of what I saw there.
First up is a Moorhen who was lazily standing on a submerged branch rather than swimming.

Next up, one of my favourite garden birds; a Blue Tit making full use of the all you can eat buffet.

Next is an ubiquitous Grey Squirrel. Unfortunately, I didn't notice the rusty screw under his jaw until I got the image onto my computer. If it wasn't a wildlife image I would have used Photoshop to remove it.

Finally, a male Chaffinch just chillin' out on a branch.
