Whilst cleaning out the bird boxes I found this caterpillar. Looks very healthy esp dor winter, and esp as many are either eggs or chrysalis

Last Saturday whilst sat outside the Left Luggage Room at Monkseaton Metro station having a couple of halves the wife and I both heard what we were sure was a Ringneck Parakeet calling as it flew along behind the bushes at the other side of the station ~ I only remembered half an hour ago and googled it on 't web. Sure enough, they are living and apparently breeding up there now so we weren't imagining it.

Yes, there is a small flock in a park in Jarrow.

There were 4 reported to be on Hooe lake which is just around the corner from Mountbatten. The best I saw was a pair of Little Grebe
