Well, @Gillstay has quite rightly pointed out that my rodent knowledge is lacking… I’ve found another weakness!
High Brown Fritillary butterfly.
That’s 2 Sundays in a row that I’ve been to Aish Tor on Dartmoor and not seen one!!! I met a bloke who had, and had the pictures to prove it!
It wasn’t a wasted opportunity, it never is.
Stonechats and offspring
On the way back I went to the tea house on the coast path. Butterflies were keeping still today!

Also on the coast path was a Kestrel that was up and down, and the most obliging male Linnet who serenaded me!

I’m aiming to get a close up of a jackdaw eye, they’re amazing. The cheeky little monkeys visit our bird feeder…. A quiet day and some luck.

A close encounter last night.
I would normally post a 10-second clip, but I can't be bothered to erase my head from all the frames (being a shy, retiring sort of chap) so you'll have to make do with a still.
