2 deer just in front of me on the Sustrans bit of my commute yesterday. Quickly ducked through the fence, then stared at me from a few yards away. Younger one got bored and hopped straight over mum's back!

Little 'uns, but bigger than Muntjacs, I think. Lovely start to a grey day, normally just get squirrels, kites, and sometimes The Heron.

Doves like to nest around the house and garden, so thought I'd build them some posh accommodation from bits of scrap wood.
Hope they appreciate my efforts

More swans, this time on the Kennet and Avon Canal, near Devizes.

Just been sat in a bird hide at the point of Ayr and we spotted some shell ducks , red shank , small egret and many more we were unable to identify .

Stumbled upon a small nature reserve this morning and watched a couple of nuthatches that were just out of phone camera range .
But did manage to get a picture of a zebra

Then just as we were leaving I caught sight of a squirrel in a bird feeder obviously stuck but the cage was out of reach for me to try and release it , another couple came along and said the warden normally pops in around lunch time to top up the feeders and hopefully he would release it.

A family of swans (Mum, Dad and teenagers?) on the Kennet and Avon Canal (NCN4)

Walking through a field near Hay-on-Wye this evening, we came upon this wee beastie, about the size of a

ping pong ball. He was very still but breathing quickly. I don't know anything about tiny mammals but he was very cute.

Not such nice photos from me this time. Took the dog for a run in a nearby forest, and this poor creature was laying in the work vehicle entrance. We get loads of deer around her, as I approached I thought that is what it would be but it’s the wrong colour, and it’s big, I’m guessing 70kg or more. So I’m thinking young cow, but who dumps a young cow. Hard to tell injuries but certainly got a wound to the front and back of the head. All a bit weird.

Anyone able to to confirm what it is for me.

Definitely a deer. They're not always the same colour.

Round here sometimes people find them partly butchered & then dumped
