A quick Google Lens when I got home says they're Alder Leaf Beetles. Seems an interesting insect. Long thought extinct in UK but they were found near Manchester in 2004 and suspected to have arrived in some foreign alders. Since then they've spread but are still uncommon
I'm rubbish on tree leaves. Is that an Alder they're on?
Yes it more than likely did and if you had left it they often come back later and take them away. Oddly if you move then just a couple of feet to one side they will not spot them in my experience. You chucked his dinner away.View attachment 614254
Sat on my garden fence earlier today.
I'm not sure if it's anything to do with the dead pigeon by my back door that I've just had to scoop up and dispose of!!
It was great to see one close up, but not too often!Yes it more than likely did and if you had left it they often come back later and take them away. Oddly if you move then just a couple of feet to one side they will not spot them in my experience. You chucked his dinner away.
Beautiful pic! would be nice as a painting, just a tad more clarity for perfectionAt this time of year I see at least one kingfisher every time I walk along the canal. Not a brilliant picture but I had the dogs with me so had to be quick, not that it’s very bothered by them.

Lucky you. I only seen a Kingfisher a handful of times, in fact there have been so few I can remember each one clearly. At this time of year I see at least one kingfisher every time I walk along the canal. They seem big enough and they haven't touched any food that we put out for last week or soHope all your hogs are big & fat enough to hibernate. My neighbour found a couple of small ones in the garden about a month ago & took them to a rescue place. One was sent back with instructions to fatten up over the next few weeks - hopefully it's doing so. I don't know what is eating the food I put out - fingers crossed it's the hog & not a rat.
