spectacular! does it turn on when it detects movement? does it have a light that turns on?

Yes, it sits dormant until it detects motion, then instantly powers up. Can be set up to take photos (single shot or burst) or a video (of predetermined length). No lights, and no LEDs showing when operating.

My brief experience with it suggests that video is more successful at capturing an image. Also that location is critical, you need to find somewhere where you know animals will be feeding/digging or somewhere where they will be passing through.

My only complaint is that the on/off button and memory card are internal and you have to open the case to get at them, a bit of a faff.
It's one of these, but there are lots of others of similar spec/price :

Lovely moth turned up today. Very active so the pics are through the wall of a jam jar (now released with no harm done). After much staring and comparing (3 similar species) with my book I've decided it's a Red Underwing. If anyone thinks differently please shout up :okay:

The lighter patches on the forewing here are the light shining through. Normally that wasn't apparent.

I know seagulls are vermin to many, but there’s something interesting about their limited fear of close flying, which I find enchanting, especially when there are foxes close by.

one of my best ever images of one in flight, today, in the garden.

and then we have visiting foxes, and this one has been quite timid, only coming closer once we retreat indoors, and often she has called much later in the day.
She seems to have a birth defect or have had some injuries because her left eye is often closed, or she is turned to favour her right eye when looking towards us. She also has odd spaced ears.
