No pics, I'm afraid, but added a Raven to the garden list (as in "seen from the garden") on Tuesday.
Reported here. Distinctive call alerted me; wedge-shaped tail diagnostic. Thrilled and amazed, only sightly dampened by someone seeing two about 2km away!

Brilliant photos as ever! Were they up to their typical behaviour, resting in a high tree between raids on a nearby lower, berry-bearing tree such as a Rowan?
If they stick around till Spring, you may see them eating emergent buds, the way Bullfinches do.

I found some locally today and they were behaving just as you describe

Difficult to explain the scene but you know when a picture flashes in front of you for just a second, movement frozen and silhouetted against a background ...and then its gone. Driving along a drain/river this morning, there's JUST enough light in the sky to see stuff in the air but only in silhouette...for a brief second a heron has just taken off maybe 10 feet away, wings at a strange angle as they get purchase on the air, long legs still dangling and in its beak is an eel, limp, looking like a snake. Totally different to the way you'd normally see them, almost like a japanese silhouette puppet show. A bit surreal.
A barn owl patrolling as well.

I had a wagtail wandering about by my feet as I was sat having a coffee whilst waiting for my motivation to find me before starting work. Cycling home,2 magpies on the path in front of me and the tail end of a deer in the field, then the bunnies as I cycled through the industrial site - see them every day.

No idea what these are but I found them lurking in a pot! I wonder what they turn into?

Whilst driving back from Bath this morning I saw 3 large dark birds wheeling around. I first thought that it was 2 crows mobbing a buzzard but as we got closer I could see that the larger bird was black and that it turned on the other 2 birds. I think it was a Raven.

A good day owl spotting here today on a ride out to Burwell Fen near Wicken. First off, three short eared owls on Burwell Fen. There have been up to six there in recent weeks. Saw a couple of stonechats too. Then on to Tubney Fen to watch the starlings come in to roost, and a barn owl was quartering the field. A female sparrowhawk caught a starling just yards from my hiding place and roared off with it screeching in her claws! As dusk approached a little owl was perched on some logs. A final barn owl on the home straight made it a memorable ride.

Here's a couple of starling pics. (A little dark by then)
