I don't know what happened, I'll blame the new download.

What has confused me is that one of the Dragonflies looks like a Common Darter whilst the other one looks like an Emperor Dragonfly.

This little moth was found resting in our hall .

I found one of these yesterday. I haven't seen any or the moths for years. When the railway embankment was covered in grass it used to be covered in them. Now it is covered in trees you don't see them as much.

A pair of these were busy in the pond yesterday. I found the yellowish green one , the female in a lilac tree today, I haven't seen the male today.

Saw 4 wheatear on the Downs today. Seems early-ish to me @nickyboy et al? Probs not!

They're on the move now so not unexpected. Always lovely to see.

From the crashing and bashing, I thought there was a badger in my garden at two this morning. I was extremely excited, but then realised that it was just the cattle in the paddock. It had stopped raining and they were clearly having a party.

Mrs H has been growing some cuttings in a pot on the veranda

However, Mr Toad thinks it's an ideal place to escape the hot (36°C) weather we're having at the moment

A Painted Lady flitting around on the track from Llanberis to Waunfawr.

Been having a think about our resident toad (above) and if there are any toad experts out there, can you tell us how the toad knew where to go to get some 'cool' ?

The pot is situated on the concrete step of a door at the end of our tiled veranda.

How did it know there would be cool soil in the pot? (which gets watered every other day)

Has he been stalking my wife?

(He's still in there, by the way)

Speckled wood butterfly today. I think it is but there's some variation

I think the Peregrine has reappeared, but as luck would have it by the time I had got my camera and changed the lens it had moved away.
