Goldfinch picking up the spllled nyger seed. I got sick of the amount of waste that covered the patio with these little buggers raking it out of the feeder so I hung a bird feeder tray underneath to catch the spills. It seems to work and they're happy to eat from it too. There're still Siskin visiting too so I'll leave the camera set up to see if I can get shot of them.
I moved the camera to point at the feeder and fat ball cage, sods law, the Siskins only appeared to be going on the tray now! Plenty of other action though, Goldfinch, Blackbird and a couple of Jackdaws.

Very nice. I have four feeders: One for hummingbirds with sugar water, one with suet - mostly for woodpeckers - one with regular seed - the small birds love it - and one with sunflower seeds. I like your solution to catching the left overs.
