'Increasingly' ie things are increasingly becoming more X. No, they're not things are becoming more X

I hadn't really thought about that before. Do you mean you don't like using increasingly outside of the special cases of becoming more X, or at all? Also is this motivated from the language side of things?

Can someone remember the cretinous phrase used when Gordon GiBrown met Barack Obama for a piddly widdly press conference? It was a quiz question on Crackle TV last Friday...um..
If I could remember it, I wouldn't like that either.

EDIT: "Pool spray"

Have we had "awesome" yet? The most over used adjective on the planet - now reserved only for things that aren't, as in "I managed to cross the road today - awesome"

"on the planet"

Really annoying:evil:

zeitgeist
chutzpah

Only ever used by pretentious journalists...

zeitgeist is a great word, and I use it all the time but mainly because it sounds nice. It really is a great sounding word, isn't it?

It's usually something to do with 60s/70s etc zeitgeist, my context, that is.

Oooh just got a 'commonality' on Newsnight.
Actually Newsnight is a good source of material for this thread.

At what point did I change from living in a house to living in a 'property'? And is 'relaxing' the same flaking out kn@ckered at the end of the day? Too many property programs

Word that annoys me most? Work.

must admit, that I get annoyed by the word 'resource', as in, your task will get done if we've got the resource to do it.

This word is paving the way for robots if you ask me.
