Don't mind cycling in the rain and don't need all the rain gear either . Went on the other week weather was fine T-shirt and 3/4's started raining but I was warm so no worries bit of water never hurt no one
It depends on the air temperature, how strong the wind is, and what temperature the water is! People die of exposure all the time! When I was last in Scotland, someone died on Ben Nevis at the start of June. Ok, that was due to snow, but that is only frozen water ...

I was out on my bike in mid-summer once and got caught in a freak storm. I went from sweating in 25 degree heat to shivering violently in about 5 seconds. The water that got dumped on me must have been at close to freezing point. It was a pretty sobering experience. Before that, I used to think like you ...

I don't like cycling in the rain, but don't mind walking in it, as long as I have all the appropriate gear on.

I used to love canoeing in the rain - with my legs enclosed in the kayak, and a dry suit top on, I kept dry, and I used to find it rather restful, in a strange kind of way.....

The sound of a good downpour is soothing.

I like walking in the rain... well mountaineering in the rain with the proper kit, it is great fun.
But there have been times when that kit has failed and it has not been pleasant.

Cycling in the rain does not have quite the same appeal as mountaineering in the rain, but I do still enjoy the occasional storm, but have to say that thunder storms and cycling are now another matter after a 'scare' some years ago on my commute home from work. The main road was closed due to a fatal RTA, so I have to find another route home and that meant through woodland, across the nature reserve and across the common. Part way through the woodland the storm hit. Going across the most exposed section of the nature reserve, just as I was going under the high voltage power cables (with pylon very close by) lightning struck and I mean stuck a tree less than 100m away from me. Every hair on my body stood up before that strike and I was soaked to the skin from torrential rain... It was not nice and I have to say put me off cycling across exposed places in thunder storms.

I don't mind being in the rain in summer, when I'm on the way home, especially in a downpour on a hot afternoon. Anything else I'd rather stay dry! I've never found the perfect combination to keep all the rain out, and my feet dry.

As long as I can keep myself dry and warm I quite like walking in the rain. I don't mind cycling in it either but find keeping warm & dry without the boil-in-the-bag effect is a tad more tricky.

There is rain, and then there is RAIN!

I walked in one horrendous storm and it managed to penetrate some pretty reasonable rainwear. It kept me dry for about 3 hours but then the water started getting in and after that it really wasn't pleasant. On top of which - what is the point in walking if you are almost getting blown off your feet and can't see any of the scenery!
