Whilst i cycle around the Somerset / Wiltshire / Dorset area i often see other cyclists out and about. Just wondered where people on here cycled, do you have any favourite routes or ones you wish to share?

Living in North Devon I'm very lucky to have a beautiful area to cycle in, regularly do Exmoor area, Dartmoor area, and if I have all day a couple of us have done Century rides too and around South Devon ending in Exeter then catching the train back to North Devon. You cant beat getting out to new areas.

I seem to instinctively head south from Warrington, maybe because this is where I started extending my journey length so it seems logical to keep widening the same essential loop!

As I live to the NE of Bristol, it means I don't have 360 degrees of decent riding from my house, so I tend to cycle along the Severn valley, bits of South Wales north of Chepstow, but more often than not I skirt the Cotswolds for a good ride. I'd cycle more South of Bristol, but either I have to take a massive loop around Bristol or ride through the hole that is Lawrence Weston/Avonmouth and go over the M5 Avonmouth Bridge before I get to anywhere decent.

Devon. I occasionally stray over the border into Somerset, but Devon's got 8000 miles of roads, so I don't think I'll run out soon. Too many favoutire routes to mention.

Oh, and Devon's got hills too. Lots of them. Good job I like them, really.

Me and Calibanzwei are the same, there's nowhere to go to the north, east or west from warrington but south is the entirety of cheshire.
our loops have been taking us out to jodrell and back and we're ranging further afield.

I live east of Bristol , most of my rides head out to the Cotswolds either via Yate/Chipping Sodbury or Bath via the Bristol-Bath cycle path.

It's possible to head towards the Mendips, avoiding Bristol via Saltford or Keynsham but it's a long ride to get to some nice roads.

I live in Hertfordshire and on the doorstep of the Chiltern Hills so I head out that way, as well as Bedfordshire & Buckinghamshire. I live on the edge of town and within 10 minutes of leaving home I'm cycling along country lanes.

Predominantly Preston, chorley and blackburn but regularly in and around the Manchester area when I get the chance. Some lovely routes available to me.

I am in north Hampshire, so my rides are usually further down in to Hampshire or in to Surrey. I keep off main roads as much as possible so probably 99% (or more) of my riding is on country lanes, the more remote the better.

Peak District, Sheffield out to Hathersage and back home to Chesterfield is my long commute home. Often out on the flatter bits over to Clumber, Southwell, and a few local climbs to get the blood flowing. Some great stuff around my doorstep

I live in the Kingston Park area of Newcastle, which is really handy for all the country roads around the airport and (when I get fitter) up into Northumberland.

We are in the Highlands so tend to either go down Glen Strathfarrar, which is car free in the evenings and all day on a tuesday - except for the locals. Or we take the back road to Kiltarlity or the same back road but the other way, to Cannich, sometimes the main road to Cannich. We never take the main road to Kiltarlity on account of the massive hill at Aigas. My Jeep struggles up that! We have not been over 20 miles yet but hope to do longer rides as soon as the opportunities present themselves.

Now we have the bike rack, we want to explore further afield, maybe Conon Bridge, Muir of Ord etc. Whatever happens we will avoid the A82 like the plague!
