How about one shirt, signed, carried, not worn or washed. Then at the end used as a new CycleChat jersey design? So everyone who wants it can have it.

I suppose that still leaves the original one - I like the sound of doing something with it that would benefit a chair-ity.

i'm all for an ad-hoc relay, although who/how are we going to coordinate it?

Well I was going to - but everybody seems to have a different idea of how it should work - certainly different to me, it would seem different to each other, aswell - so maybe someone else should organise it?

Your post is a bit of a contradiction in terms, you're up for an ad-hoc relay - but you're asking who's organising it. Surely the point of it being ad-hoc is it doesn't NEED anybody to organise it - it just 'happens'... if you really are up for an 'ad-hoc' one, then just get a jersey, sign it, make contact with someone else near you and ask if they'd be up for meeting up with you and then signing it and taking it onto the next person.

There may be people who'd like to be involved but who aren't on the map.

Let's get the thing signed first, then we can decide what to do with it afterwards.
I'd be up for carrying it round, incidentally.

If the plan is to carry it round, why not just post it  In fact why not just get everyone to upload a .jpg of their signature, then someone copies and pastes them all onto a jersey design and gets it printed... same end result achieved....:wacko:

and why does it have to be 'for charity'? Why can't it just be for the fun of cycling, and the fascination of seeing something evolve and people seeing different places and meeting up with other forummers. As far as i'm concerned if your first thought is (a) how can I look magnanimous or (B) who else is going to organise it for me, then forget it.
If you want to give money to charity, why don't you just write them a cheque?

sorry to be ranty, but i've necked four coffees since 8pm and haven't cycled much this week.

Exactly.

All we need is a CC shirt, someone to cycle to someone else with it and away we go.

It's not bloody difficult.

I was just thinking some of us might be a bit shy about stripping our top off in front of a stranger in a public place- of course, some of us would enjoy it too.

a) wear a base layer  go in another room c) they cease to be a stranger

Whoa, easy tiger - they were only suggestions for general discussion by everyone (not just for you). I'm relatively new around here, so I don't know what's stressing you out - chill & take it easy.

:?: no don't worry mcd i'm not having a go at you, you're doing this whole thing a load of good just by posting suggestions. And at the end of the day if that's what everyone wants to do, then that's what we'll do. I just have an image in my mind of how something's going to work and i'm just slightly vociferous ;)
