Going up to town to be watch it. For me it's being part of history in the making. For my partner, its for the Queen.

I'm inclined towards a ride up to London to see things. Better than driving anywhere near the place.

200k there, 200k back. :laugh::bicycle:

The logistics are a little challenging, definitely not getting on a sardine train.

Not sure what drugs you're on but you really should give them up.

Heading out for a ride, trying to avoid any radio or TV coverage of the event. Was hoping to find a pub with a garden where I could sit outside with a couple of drinks and a book before returning home, but it looks like they'll all be closed.

I would be very surprised if pubs shut. It could be a "golden" opportunity for some to make money, especially if it is a nice day.

I feel sure there will be many punters who would want to "toast" the queen and many others who would see it as an excuse / reason to go and get bladdered.

Very cute.

Im not much of Royalist - but people saying horrible things about the queen is a step too far imo - at the end of the day its still someones mom.

However I did plan take advantage of the likely low traffic and go for a ride on Monday ? - lack of respect or okie dokie ?

I've not come across people saying horrible things about the Queen as a person, though taking shots at the institution of the monarchy and all that that entails is fair game whilst it's under the microscope. The reporting is very one sided.
I think like with many things, people should do what they feel is best. Some are very reverent, others less so. I think people should be allowed to spend the day as they see fit as long as it doesn't impact on others.
I have no love for any hereditary monarchy nor a President either, we might as well have a ceremonial goat, but I'm not about to spoil somebody else's moment of 'mourning' either.

Hard working, privileged, 96 year old mum dies - Funeral Monday.
