I love octopus and squid. So do my cats. :hungry:

Actually, salt & pepper squid is food of the gods...

I'd say truffles are high on the disgusting food list! They are so expensive, yet to me so yuck!xx( I first tried one in the mid 1980's when I worked in a French type restaurant. The head chef cut quite a large one up and invited the waiters, bar staff etc to have a taste. My thoughts were treacle, licorice and a multivitamin tablet when you accidentally bite one in half.

Those damned Frenchies will drool over any old shoot! 🧐 Now, if you want a proper truffle these are the ones to make or buy and devour!!:hungry:

Actually, there is a very nice truffle-infused brie that you can buy :hungry:

Yebbut brie, you've got to wait till it's lovely and squishy... It's godawful if it's not ripe.

I've just remembered, I have a wedge of 'cambozola blue brie' in my fridge. It's unopened, but I did forget to put it in my fridge after buying it and instead left it in my shopping bag overnight in about 15 Celsius. I put it in my fridge the following day after finding it, but I wonder if it'll be safe to eat?🤔 By the way, brie's not that bad, it's just a bit tasteless to an extra mature cheddar fan like me. I thought I'd try the cambozola blue to see if it's a bit stronger than ordinary brie. :okay:

It should be fine. It won't have developed language skills yet LOL.

A ripe brie is not tasteless. But if you like strong cheeses, then try an Epoisses instead.

Some of the most disgusting ‘food’ (loose sense of the term) I’ve ever had was served up in a COVID isolation Hotel in New York that myself and my youngest Son got holed up in Dec 2021 for 12 (?) days….

We had the Omicron version; and couldn’t fly back to U.K. until we tested COVID negative. We could have had takeaways delivered in etc. But because we were in a Hotel where other versions of Covid were literally next door - we stayed in our rooms, did none of the outdoor exercise offered etc. And just avoided anyone else or anything full stop. We just wanted to test negative after our mandatory 10 days isolation. And get home to the U.K. 😳

What that did mean was that we were subjected to 36+ of the most disgusting meals I’ve ever encountered. And I’m far from ungrateful or fussy (I’m a true foodie who loves literally EVERYTHING !).

I’ve not been in Prison. But this certainly made your worst school dinner imaginable taste like Haute cuisine. I won’t go into detail but every food item served - was the worst imaginable version of that you’ve ever seen.

Again. I’m not in the slightest bit fussy - but I lost between 1 and 1.25 stone in 12+ days.

Makes me thankful now though !!
